To build examples of one of the most under-represented, yet most dependable pieces of equipment in the military arsenal.....ARTILLERY!
Since ancient times, from the first use of the Greek 'Gastraphetes' in the 4th Century B.C. through to the modern day Panzerhaubitze 2000 rumbling down the roads of Europe. Artillery, in it's many forms has always been the 'backbone' of all the world's army's and navy's.
Whether used in the defensive, or the offensive, or as a Siege weapon. Whether mounted on wheels, tracks, skis, or on ships. Whether called Catapult, Trebouchet, Cannon, Coast Defense Gun, Rail Gun, BB Main Gun, or just plain ARTILLERY. Whether firing a barrage, bombardment,broadside, fusillade.or volley. ARTILLERY has always been something the soldier could depend upon!!

Applying the K.I.S.S. theorem
ERA: As stated above, this exciting endeavor will encompass ALL of history. So, ANY timeframe is
acceptable, and special 'scrambled egg' points will be awarded for 'unique' historic entries.
SCALE: Any scale is acceptable since readily available 'non-modern' artillery in 1/35th scale is difficult to find. And for the 'thinkers' out there, this also opens up a plethora of possibilities!
SETTING: Any setting is also acceptable, whether it is a full-fledged diorama such as a firebase in Vietnam, or a single little mortar out of a figure set. Again, additional 'scrambled eggs' will be awarded to those talented few who enrichen their depiction!
AM/OOB FACTOR: Any level of involvement will be satisfactory. So, if you just want to Build your entry Out Of the Box, that's O.K. Conversely, if you suffer from AMS like some of us do, you can adorn your kit with "whatever blows your whistle!"
IN-PROGRESS: All participants are HIGHLY encouraged to post 'in-progress' photograph's of their work as the build advances ahead. And since this build is designed first and foremost as a sharing experience. Adding how-to pics is especially appreciated by all involved.
COMPLETION: Upon the arrival of the 'Finish' date, a photographic submission of your completed ARTILLERY project will qualify as official completion of the build.
AWARDS: As stated below, ALL participants successfully completing the build will receive a 'Ribbon'. Contest Element
Since this will be a long, slow, comfortable build. And the strong possibility exists that at least a few of the participating members will possibly submit multiple entries. To balance the award process and maintain the cooperative 'touchstone' with which this build will operate. There will be both a small selection of prizes for the Top entries, as well as 'Ribbons' for all participating members!
Prizes will be choice selections of Armorama brand Logoware including T-shirts, Hats & Coffe Mugs!
Further, there will be two (2) different Classes of Ribbons, the first for being a successful participant, and the second will be the same Ribbon, only with a gold citation band around the outer perimeter of the Ribbon itself. This special Ribbon will awarded to the members who win First prize in their Classes, and /or who receive Special Mention for their entry.
