Tamiya has announced they will be releasing a T55 Enigma in February in 1/35th scale. Looking at the pictures this would appear to be based upon their original T55 which is still a good model by today’s standards and this could be a winner for them. Look inside for more pictures of this soon to be released Tamiya offering.
Here are the pictures I could get of the new T55 Enigma coming from Tamiya.

Ugliest T-55 variant for me,but a welcome different one. I'm dreaming of a good quality (and well researched) T-80 or T-90A. Zvezda's T-90 is so full of inaccuracies Come on Tamiya or Dragon! We've enough PzIVs

Yes, me too I'm not very fond with it, but it offers many occasions to depict a really worn and weathered vehicle We've already talked about the T-90, and as you know, I dont agree with your point of you, but anyway that's another matter regarding the companies which could produce new Russian subjects, I believe that unfortunately DRAGON aren't intrested in them. Otherwise Tamiya on average make few new releases a year so it seems to me quite unlikely that they'll start to produce a good "T" series. We have just to hope in Trumpeter (most of all), Bronco or new products from Zvezda Cheers cheers

Surprising how many new parts there are. Looks not too bad (although a choice of Polish engine deck would have been nice). Finally a kit that I never got the conversion for! Jim

Picked up a the T-55A today, the detail is very good. A lot better than my Skif T-55 and light years ahead of the Lindberg T-55 i built.

That is a beast! Tamiya needs to get afterburners kic'n and get some new models on the shelves. The masters of tooling. I'm sure theres an obscure sherman or halftrack that needs to be done.Jokes aside, beautiful kit.Keep them coming.Carry-on treadheads!

The only thing which I can't understand is about the sprue colors Looking at the pics (thanks Hisham!) seems that new parts are sand and older ones are dark green Anyway, that's a silly question Cheers

I guess they don't allow direct linking - copy and paste and remove X if the photo I posted before doesn't show up. It's on the Tamiya site anyhow. I think it will be molded all in grey, but they just used the older green T55 parts to show the difference of the old vs new parts for the photo. COPY Jim

Its super nice to see that Tamiya is expanding their T55A, but myself I would have preferred a T55, a T55M or a T-55AM.
