An introduction to a new company out of Dublin, Ireland. Value Gear is announcing their first release.
Armorama would like to welcome a new company to the hobby, and announcing it's first release on Armorama. Value Gear is new into the hobby market, and have released their first 3 offering, 1/35 universal and generic stowage sets. The three differents sets contain 16 pieces each of resin and represent generic tarps and tent rolls. And if you are like me, I am always looking for more stowage items to load onto my latest project, these should be a welcome addition to the market.

Set #1 Scale Universal/Generic Tents & Tarps
Set #2 Scale Universal/Generic Tents & Tarps
Set #3 Scale Universal/Generic Tents & Tarps

Right now the items are only available through Dublin Model Shop, but Value Gear is working on an eBay store in the near future.

Armorama wish Value Gear good luck in their new company. And I would like to thank Sean Mullarkey for bringing this to my attention.

The stuff looks awesome! Any chance of WWII style generic stowage such as tarps, bedrolls, crates, etc? It'd open up a whole new customer base!

Julian, this stuff is generic to almost any era that used canvas tents. You could put this in the back of a horse-drawn wagon and do Civil War or Crimea with it. Change the colors and go from rubberized cloth to canvas, perhaps adding a little Mr. Surfacer to give it fabric texture.

Great news, I guess I assumed the straps and buckles would be more "modern" or something! Now that I've taken a closer look, these will look great on M3A2 halftracks, Stugs, horse drawn carts, jeeps, etc. Glad to see another resin player on the market, and reasonably priced too. It's beer o' clock now....

got mine in the post thismorning and very nice they look too. Crisp, bubble free castings, just waiting to be painted and used

Painted with Humbrol enamels, washed with Windsor & Newton Burnt Umber oil and then dry brushed with more enamels then photographed in natural light: Now to go stick them on something...just realised I have to pick out the buckles first. It's amazing how you see things in a photo that you don't see in the real thing

Good stuff Steve, The 2 new sets look good, I'm keen for you to get the crate moulds sorted as your prototypes look great
MAY 31, 2012 - 09:23 AM
yeah the big crates work fine everytime, but the little ones always have little bubbles in the corners, like the air gets stuck and my mildly industrial vacuum pump can't get a hold on the air trapped... Time to go industrial!!! Or maybe I am just some crazy guy expecting too much out of a super tiny little detailed part... I could just sell the bigger crates but I really have a vision of 4 sizes and I worked hard on scratch building those, I want the first set to be perfect... So soon... I have some slightly defective crate sets if anyone really wants them, a couple bubbles here and there. just send me an email from my site... LINK glad you like the stuff anthony... gotta send me some pics when you get some built into something...
