I had seen the Factory on their site about a month ago, and quite liked it as I am a fan of industrial structures. I appreciate the different surface treatments, particularly the chunky–looking metal sliding doors; I can almost hear them slamming into each other. I do have one major reservation - wishing that the structure was several inches deeper, partly so the clearstory window wasn’t so crudely cut-off in mid-frame. This would allow space for interior detail, with one of the doors partially open. I would also have preferred an additional bay, with the clearstory repeated on all three, as this seems quite narrow for an industrial building. I like the ramp down to street level, but I doubt that even an anorexic supermodel would have enough room to walk on the gratuitous sidewalk. The electric box and lines are a nice touch, as are the très français enamel signs. I guess overall I would say that it has plenty of atmosphere, but is a bit lacking in presence ... being termed a "Factory" .
