It looks like there may be a new kit on the horizon from S-Model, and I believe this may be a much desired 1/72 scale kit.
It seems there is some news out there that S-Model out of China has a 1/72 scale M-551 Sheridan in the works. While we have some sprues shots, but there does not look like a lot of details at this time. Normally with S-Model, there is not a lot of information until the product is available from one of the Asian online vendors, so we will keep an eye out for this. This should be a very welcomed kit in 1/72 scale replacing the ancient Airfix release.

Armorama would like to thank Kent McKesson for finding this and pointing it out.

Unfortunatelly it seems to be directly scaled down copy of the Academy 1/35 kit, with all its errors... But it's probably better than the old Airfix kit.

Pawel, Funny you mention that. I have a partially built Airfix kit languishing on my desk for years. I could probably make it better, but for the work involved I simply have not had the desire to commit to completing it. The S model "kit" is probably more accurately a wargaming piece, but even so it is light years better than the Airfix kit. However, I do recall your very thorough review of the Academy kit. It will be the benchmark by which this kit is judged. I'm still pretty psyched up about it. Whereas the Airfix kit looks like a toy resembling a M551, this is far close to a real model. Unfortunately too many of the main manufacturers are tending towards this level of simplification in their Braille offerings as well. But the are the same as they did before for well detailed kits. I can't wait to get a S-model kit and see how it compares to your original research and 1/35 scale review.
