ICM has sent Armorama news of their World War One Russian infantry weapons and equipment.
ICM has now released their World War One Russian infantry weapons and equipment and a great offering it looks to be. With the release of this product and it being 100 years since the opening shots of World War One next year, let’s hope that this is only the beginning of visits to this period of history.

Well, isn't that item right in the centre of the photo quite amazing looking for something designed during WW1? That is the Fedorov Avtomat - regarded as the forerunner of the modern assault rifle. Apparently it only saw token usage in WW1, though it was designed in 1915. I didn't know that already by the way, I was just intrigued by the picture... Wikipedia (naturally).

Mathew, Thank you for this info. I'm very intrigued by this weapon as well as the AVT-40 which is also credited with being a forerunner of the modern Assault rifle. The AVT-40 looked just like the SVT-40 but with a stouter stock and the safety doubled as a fire selector. Full automatic fire was absolutely wild and totally uncontrollable. I'm willing to bet most here have never heard of Red Orchestra the PC game but, as I've said before, every person here should check it out...everyone... you can handle the weapon in RO2 and confirm that accuracy was definitely sacrificed.

Why do these companies do things bass-ackwards?! You would think that they would produce the corresponding figures first...then the weapons sets. ICM have some very nice WWII German and Soviet sets. Jeff
