It is looking like some old favorites and some new items are coming from Italeri this year.
Italeri has published a Model Kit Preview 2014 catalogue and it shows the intended releases for 2014. It includes some old favorites like the US Paratroopers, M36B, Chevrolet Gun Tractor, and many more. There are also some new releases, like the LMV Lince and LCVP with US Infantry, which states to be 100% new moulds. So it is looking like a good year from Italeri.

6524 – LCVP with US Infantry
6504 – LMV Lince

Looking at Italeri's web site it sounds like they have two LCVP kits one with 30 fig's and one with 10.I have to agree with the comments about getting the figure from another source. The figures for the PT 109 and the British MTB look cool. The return of the closed cab 2 1/2 ton is welcome news.Noticed it said return nothing about new tooling so I assume it will still have skinny tires.

I have to correct my self on the comment about the two LCVP kits. Kit 6524 is LCVP with 30 figures. Kit 6522 is 10 figures only. This is based on rereading the complete release article on Italeri web site.

Mostly just a lot of reboxed reboxes of 30+ yr old molds. I'm surprised the molds have lasted this long. Maybe Italeri popped out so many unsold kits they're still trying to get rid of them. A lot of these kits have since been replaced by much better examples by newer model companies. And for the prices they charge for the reboxes, for a few dollars more you can get a much better and accurate model. Their US paras were pretty bad, BTW, even with Hornet heads!

Been waiting for YEARS to build an LCVP with dedicated GIs cast in hunkered-down poses before hitting the beach! Now I'm hoping that I won't have to convert a bunch of figures to achieve the same results. It's likely that the 30 ITALERI GI figures will require HORNET, ALPINE or even some of my old stock of WARRIORS US heads, but I wind up replacing the heads on the great majority of my MASTER BOX, ICM, MINIART, etc, figures anyway...

Case in point, for a few Euros more, you can get Mirror's excellent CMPs. No more struggling with 30 year-old moulds for me... Nor am I optimistic on the LCVP with figures - Italeri's track-record has been abysmal.

Didn't ITALERI some time ago make some resin figure sets for their 1/35 80FT Elco PT Boats and their S-100 Boats? I never got any of them, but if memory serves, these resin figures were supposed to be pretty good... Yes, no, maybe? The older 1/35 ITALERI styrene figures were pretty awful... The 30-year-old ITALERI/TESTORS GMC CCKW kits DID have tires that weren't very accurate, but at least the Frame Assemblies were cast in the correct "I-beam" configuration and ITALERI also included the highly visible separate Drag Link to be installed between the Pitman Arm on the Steering Box and the Left Steering Arm. These two features of the old ITALERI Jimmy kits were not included in the "superior" TAMIYA CCKW 353 kits, and TAMIYA has seen fit NOT to correct these flaws even after all these years... What's up with that? I haven't bought the HOBBY BOSS GMC CCKW 353 w/40mm Bofors AA gun kit yet, so I don't know if they got it right. Am anticipating their new GMC CCKW 353 Tanker kit- I hope that HOBBY BOSS will follow suit with a regular Jimmy 6x6 Cargo Truck- Include a FULL Canvas Tarp, PLEASE...

I don't know, and am doubtful, about resin figs from Italeri, but they have released a couple of so-so crew sets for their S-Boot and Elco's in styrene. There are, however, other companies who do make resin figs suitable for Pacific Theater crews, and U-, and S-Boots.

Sherman, the S100 and Elco crews were styrene figures and pretty typical Italeri Figures. Not up to current standards but useful nonetheless.
