Andrea Miniatures recently released a WWI vignette in 54mm featuring British MK.IV "Male" Tank under assault by German Infantry, 1918. Now Andrea introduces another version of the heavy British WWI tank under their Great War series of models.
S3-A03 - British MKI "Male" Tank

The model is sculpted in 54mm (1/32 scale) and features 37 white metal casting parts and 4 resin parts for assembly and painting. More info on: http://www.andreaeurope.com/

Loioks good but I don't think it'll be cheap!

"The" British Heavy Tank? There were a lot of British heavies: Mk1, Mk2, Mk4, Mk5 and Mk5* all saw action. Mk3, Mk5** and Mk8 were either experimental or in stages of design. So, not "The" but "one of the" British heavies.

Paul, Andrea website lists the model for $200. Bill, sorry but I'm not native English speaker so sometimes my writing is far from perfect. Thanks for pointing out my mistake, I will correct it asap. Mario

Mario[/quote] Maybe we would have to speak a different language not to have mistakes with the language from Albion....and the corresponding corrections from perfect users ...esperanto? hahaha

Hello Mario, English is my native language and personally I think Bill owes YOU an apology for his unecessary nitpicking of your post. Regarding the model, I think I will wait for Takoms release, even if it is a Mk.IV, not a Mk.I. I am sure a Mk.I in plastic will come eventually as well. Cheers, Sven

Maki, no worries, mate. I didn't look to see who posted the news, so it's nothing personal. I'm just used to people either forgetting that it was the British who invented tanks and tank tactics, or thinking that there was only one British tank and that it didn't work. It's nice to see Andrea do something genuinely different, and it seems to me that cost is no object for 1/35 and 1/32 modelmakers. I'm sure Peter Jackson will be buying one of these!

No problems guys. I don't mind the corrections as it is the way to learn how to speak properly. As for the Andrea's offering, have you noticed it is cast in white metal? It is going to be a pretty heavy model. Cheers, Mario

Heavy, yes, maybe it will be scale weight! It looks and sounds quite awesome actually, the tracks look very nice. Can't quite see myself shelling out that much for one though... Hmmm.

I like Andrea and I understand they developed this to accompany their 1/32 figs. But the timing of this is just terrible for them. With two easier to build, less expensive and likely more accurate kits in 1/35 coming out, I think Andrea may not get many sales of this item. Shoot, their entire 1/32 WWI figure line is being superseded by encroaching 1/35 releases.
