New Soft Skins from ICM

ICM has sent Armorama news of three new products that are now available and another that is in the works. The ZiL-131, V3000S/SS M Maultier and Kadett K38 Saloon Staff Car with German Road Police have been sent out to the retailors.

ICM continues to satisfy the needs of the soft skinned vehicle modeller with three new offerings hitting the shelves for sale. The ambulance version of the V3000S/SS M Maultier should prove popular along with the ZiL-131. The Kadett K38 Saloon Staff Car with German Road Police is now available as a single purchase as opposed to previously only being available separately.

Also from ICM is news of a Lastkraftwagen 3,5 t AHN in the works, this is not a vehicle I know anything about, but it is an ugly looking cab and so should have appeal all of its own.

The "Lastkraftwagen 3,5t AHN" is nothing else than a Renault AHN. I presume the manufacturer was not mentioned to avoid copyright issues or something like that. It was developed for the french army before the war and production continued after the fall of France with about 4000 cars being delivered to the Wehrmacht. I personally am happy with this yet I am still waiting for a Citroen U23. Perhaps still to come?? Best Regards Dennis

The AHN1 (ICM kit) was built by French manufacturer Renault for the German Army from May 1941 to July 1944. The AHN2 was built from November 1944 to January 1947 mostly for the civilian market. Here's a dedicated website : http://www.pietvanhees.nl/ahn/index.htm H.P.

THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!! This new French AHN will look very nice in anyone's collection, especially those who like WWII French AFVs. Just saw the new HOBBY BOSS #83806 FRENCH R35 Light Infantry Tank (with interior details) over on the CYBERMODELER website. Photos of sprues, etc. MSRP will be $54.99...

I'll definitely be looking to get the AHN - it features pretty strongly in the "After the Battle - Ruckmarsch" the German retreat from France. Most motorised units which served or were formed in the West seemed to use this vehicle. Also the Maultier - ICM are becoming my favourite manufacturer!
