Seen at Toy Fair in Nuremberg (Speilwarenmesse) at the Dragon Models booth, this beauty. Check it out.
Dragon has released first shots of the box art for an upcoming release of the Patriot missile defense system made famous during Operation Desert Storm. This is slated to be a 1/35 release and as such is going to be a big mother! The preliminary box art shows the HEMTT tractor and the trailer with the box o pain. No word yet on when this will be released or what the price point will be but fair enough to say that its a great time to be a modern builder.

This will of course open the proverbial "pandora's box" of with this base what else can you do? This reporters first thought is of a HEMTT PLS system which could easily follow or be left to the aftermarket companies as an easy conversion.

As the official announcement from Dragon is released, hopefully along with some sprue shots, we will be sure to let you know, so stay tuned.

Seems odd since they had mock-ups and box art that were shown. Someone up the thread mentioned that they were re-tooling to do a JGSDF version instead of the US version. Given some of the short cuts in the Trumpeter version I was looking forward to seeing how Dragon would do. Time may yet tell! Michael

Yeah, Amazon still shows it as being released February 5 and eBay says the 29th for one seller. Some model shops online are still showing either out-of-stock or future. It is odd though that Dragon has pulled all reference to it rather than showing the JGSDF as a future release if that is what they intend to do. I agree a lot of work seems to have gone into the project for them to simply pull the plug. Could it be they have heard all the negative comments about Black Label and are trying to do better on this release? One can only hope . . .

Trumpeter may have take short cuts on the HEMTT, But I'm not really sure on the launcher and the radar trailer. I built them and I'm happy. the JGSDF uses the launcher but its not pulled by the HEMTT, They use a locally made truck. But given Dragon's track record, I'll pass.

I have the JASDF PAC-3 version, it is from AOSHIMA in 1/72 scale. The tractor is a cab over of Japanese design. The kit comes with the Launcher is pretty detailed for the size, it even comes with vinyl tubing to hook up the tractor to the launcher and also for the launching tubes. Their is also a PE Kit from Tetra Models for the kit, the PE kit(#ME-72002) comes with parts for both the tractor and the launch unit. It really upgrades the plastic parts from the kit. I was really thinking about ordering the Dragon, but never really was told when it would be ready. I have only 1 other Dragon kit, and that is the M-65 Atomic Cannon.

Zombie Patriot- The Kit That Would Not Die Well, the MIM 104 B kit w/ Hemtt has risen from the dead and dragged itself back onto the Dragon websites with an estimated (ahem....) release date of April 2016. Just in time for Negan to have a go at it with Lucille. Some might say that's poetic justice. others a mercy killing. Either way it's still just $120 for those who dare to hope. Including me.

While visiting my LHS, I came across the new Dragon catalog for Germany, looked inside saw the Pac 1 kit, and also a Pac 3 kit too. Has anyone heard about the Pac 3 Kit? More info when I can get my hands on the Catalog.

Well, just a YEAR late, Dragon has now listed the arrival of this so-called kit as June 2016. My pre-order from 5/29/2015 is still active. Probably some kind of internet world record for an un-fulfilled order. Jon Snow may be alive now but this one is determined to stay dead. Any bets on when, if ever, it comes to life? Rick

It will come soon, but it will be a launcher trailer ONLY. No tractor truck included.

Actually they still show both the 104B and 104F as coming in June. Interesting that the 104B (with Hemtt) is only $20 more than the 104F (trailer only). A $20 Hemtt just in time for July 4th? Can you say cherry bomb?
