A welcome addition to ICM's growing line of figs. Very nice with loads of potential. Some Johnny Turk figs would be cool. At least none of these guys are pointing like many recent Dragon figus. ICM has greatly improved theier 1/3

The officer with the periscope reminds of the movie Gallipoli I just saw last night. Forgive my ignorance but what makes one of the figures a Kiwi? They all seem looking alike for me. Olivier

Olivier, not a great deal.....different unit badges worn on hats/ epaulettes and some red piping on the Kiwi hats puggaree (the band that go's around the hat). The fur felt hat is a different shape to the Aussie slouch hat (Kiwis hat is shaped 'Lemon squeezer' style) although this NZ figures hat is not shaped into the Lemon squeezer look, perhaps our NZ modellers can confirm the different styles of hat/ shapes. I am aware NZ infantry units also had red piping up the legs of their trousers too...! Cheers, Jason

Hi Olivier, Both the Australians and New Zealanders wore the slouch hat. The Australian version has the brim turned up on the left hand side with the badge mounted on the turn up. As for the Kiwis, the brim remains down and the badge is at the front. The "Lemon Squeezer" did not into use until after the Gallipoli campaign, when the infantry wanted to look different from the Australians (can't understand why) cheers David P.S. David, bit of topic for ICM but you better pop over to Peter Jacksons place at the WETA workshop and tell him the 2000 NZ figures wearing lemon squeezers are incorrect for the massive 54mm Chanukah Bair diorama they are building for the centenary. Must admit I did not know they were 'bashed' into the lemon squeezer until after the Gallipoli campaign.

Hmmm...I wonder if it would be possible, with suitable replacement arms, to turn the first standing figure into a sniper, to go along with the fellow with the periscope in a trench vignette.

Hi Jason, may be I should have been a bit fuller in my previous post. The “Lemon Squeezer” was “OFFICIALLY” adopted after the Gallipoli campaign. That is not to say that it was not worn before that point in time. But having said all that I have yet to a photograph of anyone wearing a Lemon Squeezer during the action at Gallipoli, there a plenty of “illustrations” showing them. Cheers David
