Mantis Miniatures updates their catalogue with some new figure and animal releases in 1/35 scale.
35081 - Pin-up Girl #1

35082 - Pin-up Girl #2

The figures are also available as a pair:

35083 - Pin-up Girls Set 1

The figures are sculpted by the talented Nino Pizzichemi, with the box art painted by Artur Miniszewski. The figures are designed to fit Tamiya & Master Box bicycles kits, and the bicycle is not included in the set. Cast in resin.

35084 - Pin-up Girl & Accessories for bicycles

This is another version of the Pin-up figure but it also includes resin bicycle accessories.

Also, Mantis released two new animal sets in 1/35 scale:

35085 - Animals Set 22

35086 - Animals Set 23

Both are sculpted by P. Szymczyk with the boxart painted by A. Miniszewski.

These women need more smooth and female looking faces in my humble opinion. But I do like the pigs very much, great idea to show them half in the mud

Ditto. Not sure if it's the sculpting or paint job, but those "women" look more like male transvestites! (Don't ask me how I know )

I'm guessing that's the "Frau Mueller" bicycle, which is on my list of things to get. Just need a rider from the sixties.

Ditto. Not sure if it's the sculpting or paint job, but those "women" look more like male transvestites! (Don't ask me how I know ) [/quote] I'm would venture to say that if these two little hotties are "working girls", then the facial features are pretty accurate. Having grown up in New York City, I've seen enough of them to come to this conclusion: I don't think that the faces look too "male". The REAL "working girls" lead a pretty rough life, which will cause young women to take on a pretty hard and disillusioned "look". Then again, as mentioned by biggles, the figures could also pass for "trannies or she-males" who haven't undergone the entire (and EXPENSIVE) plastic surgery process in turning their facial features into the "softer" female appearance. Conversely, I've also seen enough real girls with "mannish" facial features to offer my take on these new figurines' facial features. It's also quite possible that the painter's painting techniques applied to these figurines' faces may have a lot to do with the impression that they make. If you're an accomplished painter, your painting technique (and coloring) can convey virtually anything from a "beauty" to a "beast" and vice-versa. I know, because I've done it, quite successfully. There are 9 to 12 distinctly different steps to properly painting a face, alone... If the facial features look a bit to "rough" for you, well then, a bit of judicious "softening" can still be accomplished with some very fine sanding in strategic places... I welcome these new figurines, and the re-posing and painting possibilities are many, if one has these skills...

Are you in the habit of using hateful slurs? Are Armorama's advertisers aware you allow hate speech here? I'm going to find out.

Where are the 'hateful slurs' (serious question)? Wondered if some people find 'trannie' or 'she-male' offensive so perhaps that's it? Not up to speed on what the 'proper' terms are ...

See I am so old that my comment is only I hope her finger is NOT on the trigger of the Luger. Hate to see anyone knee cap themselves. Be safe out there. Peace to all.

As each of the "slurs" was put in quotations it can be assumed they are quotes of another's less sensitive remarks made in "street" lingo. Honestly in a discussion of model miniatures to parse terms for something like a transvestite or transitioning person could be viewed as really stretching things. But then we do go crazy about T-34 (Russian tank) versus T34 (US prototype) and other such nomenclature minutia so why not modern LBGTQ terminology. Which changes practically every day as some term or another is labeled as "insensitive" and "hate speech" and a new euphemism put forward as "acceptable" speech. Quite Orwellian to anyone old enough to understand what that means and how far we've come towards "thought Police" and "Minitru" .

So I started this with saying "male transvestites", originally without the quotation marks. So what's so "hate speech", or "hateful slurs" (there's those hateful quotation marks again! ). Did I denigrate male transvestites or even transgenders in any way? Didn't even bad-mouth gays or lesbians! If you read something negative in that, maybe you should re-read it with a different mind-set. Have a nice day!
