Although it has been around for a few days, the new Tiger of Rye Field Model is now officially announced.
Being a one-off field conversion of s.Pz.Abt.508 in Italy, there is not much information about this odd vehicle other than some photos of it after abandoned.

It is supposed to have been a recovery vehicle, although it could have been also a charge layer.

Rye Field Model has decided to offer this vehicle as the next on their Tiger range, using the available references and making some assumptions due to the lack of full information.

The kit comes again with photo etch parts and workable plastic tracks. The turret is new for this kit also.

I don't agree that Rye Field are "using the available references" as you said. Their CAD shows a headlight in the center front panel of the Tiger; but almost every photograph of this vehicle shows a headlight on the roof outer edge, by the driver. What happened, if you ask me, is that Rye Field went to the various sets of plan views that people have published over the years. They trusted the drawings rather than the photos - and of course, drawings are much easier to use. But not every tank draftsman is Hilary Doyle. The drawings have various mistakes in them. David

It is always best to research and learn as much as you can before you begin.
