MiniArt announces that is preparing a new SU-85, specifically the 1943 Early model. And it will come with its crew.
The SU-85 (Samokhodnayaustanovka 85) was a Soviet self-propelled gun used during World War II, developed on the basis of the T-34 medium tank and the SU-122 assault gun. Produced from August 1943 through July 1944. The 85-mm D-5S gun allowed the SU-85 to effectively hit enemy medium tanks at distances of more than 1,000 meters and was able to destroy a Tiger tank from 1000 meters out, proving much capable against the newer German tank designs.

This model from MiniArt does not have the interior, but comes with a crew of five. Even without interior, the part count raises to 613, of which 73 are photoetch. A good part of them also are individual track links, for a workable track.

I built the Dragon SU-85, but this looks like it would be worth a shot, especially with the crew.

I'm definitely looking forward to their SU-85 lineup, about time to replace the old Tamiya one. I believe Dragon only boxed the later SU-85M version (plus the SU-100), Tamiya did the original SU-85.

Too bad the kit with the interior doesn't come with a dedicated crew set. With this non-interior kit, most of the crew will be outside of the SPG. I understand the need to offset the lack of interior, but still it would be nice to have figures fitting in that detailed interior.
