Originally to be called hardcorps U.K.; as Pete was unaware of Dave Harper’s company HardCorps Models, the present name is derived from the names of Pete’s children. Dave Harper helpfully suggested the name Hard Core Models as an alternative but imagine typing Hard Core Models into Google!
Pete says he started this range for a couple of reasons; first, he was tired of sculpting the same old German figures in different guises and secondly he thought that there was a real lack of the type of figures he has planned, namely Allied, esp. British.
Cast in white metal and at a price of £8.50 there are seven figures in the range so far: Desert TankerDesert tanker no. 2British MP in tropical dress, directing trafficBritish seaman in duffle coatBritish tank commander in 'Pixie' suitBritish tanker in 'Pixie' suit, loading ammoBritish tanker in 'Pixie' suit, loading ammo no. 2
Pete is currently working on the 8th &9th figures (British Tankers in Far East). JAKREI Miniatures
also plan to produce figures from other armies, and not all from WW2. Pete says he will sculpt some Brits from OP Telic; SAS, Infantry, Tankers, etc this year. He may do a WW2 German at some point but it would have to be something really special as, to quote Pete; I think that they've all been covered (and their uncles, dogs, cats, etc!).
Also coming soon are some modern British Policemen and some more naval subjects such as a Commander.JAKREI Miniatures
are looking for distributors in all countries (with the exception of Italy, where they are negotiating with a major distributor). Pete is hoping to take a stand at Euro Militaire in September and show the range which should be 15 figures strong by then. There will also be a JAKREI Miniatures
website but at the moment the only way to obtain the figures is directly from Pete (Payment by cheque or postal order)
