Dragon is now offering a 1/35 scale kit of a Panzerjäger IB mit StuK 40 L/48, a tank hunter based on the chassis of the old Panzer I Ausf.B light tank and mounting a 7.5cm StuK 40 gun from a StuG tank destroyer.
As WWII progressed, Germany was forced to desperately cobble together whatever armoured vehicles it could to get them onto the field of battle. One such vehicle was the Panzerjäger IB mit StuK 40 L/48. This vehicle is believed to be a one-off field conversion that appeared late in the war, with photographic evidence placing it in the vicinity of Berlin.

Dragon is now offering a 1/35 scale kit of such a Panzerjäger IB mit StuK 40 L/48. The Panzerjäger IB receives DS tracks to make assembly a bit easier. Additionally, the vehicle has a full interior in fighting compartment. The ultra-slim small gun shield is made to accurate dimensions, and there is judicious provision of photo-etched metal parts to represent more delicate elements.

My point is, IMHO, it doesn't "improve" the options for this particular subject.

I'm very glad to see this come back. The original release was very limited and I was unable to get one. I'm not sure how the DS tracks will look, depends how detailed they make them -- but individual link alternatives are available for those who prefer that approach.

Talk about top-heavy! So this is little short of a limited CH kit. Can't see myself bothering with it, but hey, it is something different...

Can't believe it is back!, Will Dragon release all the limited edition boutique kits? Is it a money making exercise only? The original photo was heavily criticized as photo-shop phony? I guess we will see what is released next? Interesting

Wait 'till they release the Early, Mid, and Late production versions! Or the special "Bruno Schwartzmann" edition, with missing front fenders, and Jerry can rack!

You mean they haven't already, and that you haven't ordered TWO of each like the rest of us compulsive collectors? No wonder they screw around with us as they do as we are, as a group, so very easily charmed out of our money as they throttle the golden goose that is the 45+ generation that builds these things! Step right up and pay more for the same stuff that we'll improve-upon and sell to you again and again! Rant Rant Rant!
