Pending its Bergepanzer 38t (Late) release, Thunder Model has just announced another variant, this time on the early version of the recovery vehicle.
We are to expect two kits for release – a standard and a limited bonus edition kit.

TM35102 Standard Edition

  • 370+ plastic parts (sprues A, B, C, 2xD, E )
  • slide molded, multi-side slide molded hull and body
  • faithfully reproduced crane and winch
  • full interior
  • PE detail sheet, scale chain
  • PE color printed instruments
TM35100 Limited Bonus Edition

  • 420+ plastic parts (sprues A, B, C, 2xD, E, F )
  • slide molded, multi-side slide molded hull and body
  • full interior
  • bonus full detail engine compartment
  • faithfully reproduced crane and winch
  • PE detail sheet, scale chain, additional bonus PE sheets with Skirts parts and
  • mudguards parts
  • PE color printed instruments
As far as release dates, Thunder Model stated: ”Bergepanzer 38 Hetzer Late molds will be tested soon after our New Year holidays and the kit will be available in late February or early March. Bergepanzer 38 Hetzer Early variant without blade, with early wheels and other assemblies will be released in late March or early April. More news to be announced after our holidays!”

On related news the Bergepanzer 38(t) Hetzer (Late) will also be available as standard and limited bonus edition kits; the latter having additional features such as full detail engine compartment and interior, PE sheets with skirts and mudguards parts.

I think it's that big spool on the right side, and feeds out the back.

Is this from ex-Italeri, or Dragon moulds? Or entirely new?

I believe that was for the spade at the rear which this version doesn't have.

Hobby Link has the late version on preorder, this has the rear spade.

Biggles2 from what I understand Thunder Models is making their own molds thus this is all entirely new.
