And another news repost from SOGA Miniatures... now something for fans of Allied figures. The company will be producing a large set of 1/35 scale figures depicting US Paras riding on a Sherman tank.
The set contains 14 figures; a lieutenant, 2 sergeants, machine-gun team and 9 privates. The figures are all sculpted by Dmitry Shishkov and cast in resin. Again, this is still a work in progress and we will let you know once the set goes into production. Stay tuned!

Dmitri was kind enough to show me these in development, and asked me for help on the medic. I hope I was helpful, because SOGA do some of the most-interesting figures out there (along with Stalingrad). Dios in a box almost every set is says Yoda.

True, but not all got the new stuff. I have pics of guys in the Battle of the Bulge still wearing the old jump suits. J[/quote] The paratroopers got the new uniforms as a supplementary issue for Market Garden. However the new uniforms were to replace worn out jump uniforms NOT to totally replace Them until the older jump uniforms wore out. So troops were wearing pieces of the jump uniforms to nearly the end of the war. Previous issues of uniform and gear do not magically disappear because you get something new. The old stuff will be used until it is no longer serviceable. And lots of times the REMFs (today's FOBBITs) took all the new issue for themselves leaving the front line troops with the older issue. A good book about wartime service culture is Paul Fussel's Wartime. This is also shown in the TV series Band of Brothers and is mentioned in the books about the units.
