As many of our site members have been reporting problems with their Photobucket hosted images in the forums, we have opted to remove the time limit on editing posts for the time being. This should allow folks to edit any photos and update to other photo hosting if they choose so their photos will once again appear in 3rd party forums.
For those not aware apparently Photobucket has reversed a long standing policy of allowing images to come up on third party sites (like forums) and now only paid accounts have this option (still with limited amounts of bandwidth, etc.). This has left a lot of forum topics across the Internet devoid of the photos they normally would be showing. Of course even in the past some users would exceed their bandwidth for the month and photos were missing, etc.

KitMaker will be looking at some options to fix this issue longer term. Up to and including the ability for users to upload photos to forum topics and have those photos be part of the permanent record (meaning not taken off any photo storage limit on your account). Clearly sites like Facebook, where there are no known limits to photo uploads, are changing this dynamic and driving a lot of users to Facebook to post their work. Sadly this cuts both ways as Facebook is not an long term online resource for knowledge in the way that forums can be. It is not searchable in any meaningful way and each account/page limited to the range of people who are associated or follow that account.

If you have feedback on this issue please post it here.

There was a problem with some edits. Should be fixed now though. My apologies but the forum code is highly complex so this bug didn't pop up on the account I was using for testing.

Hello Jim, sorry for asking similar question in other thread, but I really curious about for how long the edit button will be available? Since I still busy with another business that still takes longer time (than I already predicted before! ) after spending my weekend with my family and after doing so, I may be available to fix all of my posted thread. I just worried if I return to my PC, the button is already disappear. So many thanks Jim!

I became a subscriber shortly after finding this site so that I could avoid having my threads pics dissapear and have over 1600 pics stored here once you figure out how to post them it's easy. Cheers Rob.

Is there any automated way to move images from Photobucket to another hosting site? I'm not even sure how to locate all the posts I've made that have images attached to them, much less move those images from PB and then change the address of where those images are here in Armorama. What a nightmare!

Hey , Curt I feel your pain Just finished replacing pix in my build threads over @ Scale Model Addict . Took weeks --- hour here , hours there . I was thinking " someone must be able to create a program to do this automatically " ,, but it would need to be some kinda AI , I imagine I hope you still have the original pix on your computer ! I just abandon PB and re-upload the pix to Google + account ( easy and free ) and then edit them back into the old thread . Find the pic , copy the pic ID # ( using the left-click swipe method ) , return to computer pix file , paste that ID# , double click the pic to grab it up to Google , then copy that new Google address and edit back into old thread ..... AD NAUSEAM Usually until my wrist and arm start cramping up from running the mouse ! I repaired all the " important " threads ,,,,, there's still stuff out there , but I'll probably just abandon them -- or poke at them over the year
