Hornet adds two more sets to its line of replacement heads.
The following sets contain five (5) resin heads in 1/35 scale.

  • HAH04 Gurkhas
  • HH45 Sub-Saharan Africans
As always, the sculpting is masterfully done, with varied expressions that give each head its unique character. General availability is by the end of the month.

The Gurkhas are nice, particularly the bush hats. NOW, for me ,I like the African heads. I can see Senegalese gunners at DBP or GI's on Dusters. A win in my book!

It would be nice if Mr. Saunders would consider sculpting some children's heads

Brilliant work as usual from Mr Saunders. I agree about some kids and youths heads. Great idea. He offers some youth heads but we need more IMHO. The African heads may come in handy for a American Civil War vignette I have planned. Can you say US Colored Troops ? J

USCT don't get enough love in my opinion, Jerry. Too bad there isn't more equipment for ACW in our scale.

"Sub-Saharan African-Americans of Color" Political correctness taken to ridiculous extremes. If "White" people can be labelled "White". what's the insult in others being described as "black", or "brown", etc.?

Regarding the description on the label in these cases, Sub-Saharan Africans is most probably meant to distinguish between North Africans i.e. Arabs (mainly) which have different facial features. But I agree with the political correctness going mad these days. Here, it helps choosing the right set when one sees only the description, not a picture of the set.

Well, just to be clear,my reference to "US Colored Troops" was using the official term the gov't used for the Regts filled with African Americans during and after the that war. No political correctness intended. J

I was being totally facetious. I take offence at being labelled "White" - I'm "Franco-Anglo-Scottish central sub-arctic yet super-meditteranian western European Caucasian of Pale Color"

That guy, second from the right, sure looks like William Shatner!
