MiniArt is set to release an alternative kit for those who do not fancy building interiors.
MiniArt’s T-54A Soviet Medium Tank (37017) will have a total of 763 parts comprised of plastic, photo-etched, and clear components.

It promises to build a highly detailed model with features such as:

  • workable torsion bars
  • hatches that may be assembled either open or closed
  • individual track links
Lastly, a decal sheet for 6 finishing options will be included.

Photos of the kit's contents may be viewed at the MiniArt website.

The Tamiya kit is a T-55, and I could be wrong but I don't think Dragon made one. I think Takom makes one, maybe that's the one you're thinking of Jeff?

The NVA used T-54-3, T-54A, T-54B, T-55 and Chinese Type 59.

Hi; FYI--The only kit Dragon made for the NVA was A Late T-34/85 ! The other AFVs were PT-76s & Type 85s !! CHEERS; MIKE.

Knew that this was coming -it only made sense to offer one of their very nice kits sans interior. Personally I like interiors but hey that's not for everyone.

Just got it and it is a heavy kit. It looks incredible and was very well packed. It has markings for the NVA and six others which are all soviet, but they do give you some finished options, the parade one looks funky. The sprues look good through the plastic. Clearly laid out instructions.
