Modelcollect annouces two German WWII railway platforms, an SSyms 80 and a Flak40 carrier.
The Schwere Platformwagen SSYMS 80 was a heavy platform used for transport of vehicles and other stuff, and was able to carry even the Tiger tank. This new model will allow to show a variety of cargo at small scale.

To complement it, Modelcollect will release also a wagon with a 12,8cm Flak40 that provided anti aircraft defense to the train convoys.

Umm, languages used by various "subcultures" can cause confusion. This web-page contains definitions/descriptions of some types of freight waggons: LINK Specifically the platform type: LINK "May 8 GB Railfreight announced it had agreed to lease 18 Ecofret triple-platform container wagons from VTG Rail UK for five years." "the Ecofret wagon is designed to maximise the number of 40 ft containers that can be carried within a given train length. The outer platforms can each carry one 40 ft container and the inner platform can carry either one 40 ft or two 20 ft containers" LINK LINK FLA - Freightliner Twin Low Platform Container Flat Wagon Specifically when the subject is a German plattformwagen 4-achsiger Plattformwagen, Reichseisenbahnen Elsass-Lothringen SSml 24095 Not unknown in armour modelling either LINK / Robin

That's all very well, and Modellcollect make some very nice models in 1/72, but I hope they also release some 1/72 RR track, unless these are gauged to run on HO track. A heavy loco would also be useful.

Robin, They may all be platforms but they all have a very important word after them WAGON. I like Mike thought this was about a station platform however all that said and done this is still a very interesting release.

From Hobby Boss: Both of those come with four sections of track, which looks enough to take something other than just the loco in the kit. And this: And this: I notice the wagon only kit here, without the flak, is two to the box.

Wow, imagine a couple of E-100s on wagons with a loco at each end... Mmmmm

Personally I'd like them to rescale it in 1/35th for the crazies like me that like to see and detail the heck out of everything.

Yep, my fault. Seems that in German is correct and also in Spanish so I did not check in English. Had the chance to do it right the next day thanks to Dragon
