Some of the items in this News item were previously covered in another report, however, some are for imminent release and others are in the preparation stage. The next few months are going to see some very exciting releases from Masterbox, in this photo-report we're going to give you some pointers as to what to expect...
Firstly, my thanks to Masterbox Limited for providing the (advance and exclusive) images of the British Paratroops. Secondly, set numbers 3527 (Checkpoint) and 3532 (Russian Tankmen, Kursk, 1943) are under preparation for shipping as we speak.

I've managed to put together images from four of the new figure sets - 3529, 3532 & 3535, with the fourth (exclusive to this Network) being advance images of one of the sets of British Paratroops.

Looking through the images of the new releases, there is an incredible range of poses and subjects being planned for release. The imagination demonstrated within the individual sets is also impressive.

Frankly, i'm getting a little 'jaded' with so many generic releases it's good seeing sets where there is a clear 'interaction' between the various elements.

All the sets are in Masterbox's list of FUTURE releases, however, 3527 & 3532 should be available in the next few weeks.

Masterbox Future Releases:

3529 - Russian Infantry. Korsun-Shevchenkovskiy, 1944 This set consists of five figures in a variety of uniforms (including captured parkas)

3532 - Russian Tankmen, Kursk, 1943 Again, a five-figure set with the emphasis of the poses very firmly on 'movement' with an AFV crew 'baling-out' of their vehicle.

3535 - Russian tankmen, 1943-1944 in contrary to the previous set, this four-figure set are of a crew relaxing after combat. Particularly notable is the clothing of the crew.

3540 - German communicators, Stalingrad, Summer 1942 We were given exclusive images of this set a few months ago and can be seen: HERE (LINK)

3541 - Casualty's Extricate, Stalingrad, Summer 1942 Images are NOT available as yet (only the box-art) but will feature a useful set of four German infantrymen removing a casualty using a blanket as an improvised stretcher.

Finally, the British Paratroopers. Two sets are being listed on the company website - 3533 & 3534. today, we were sent advance images of the figures under preparation. Notable features are undoubtedly the poses (including a wounded figure and medic) and for the first time EVER in plastic figure sets - a figure from the Glider Regiment with the distinctive helmet. These images should only be seen as 'indicative' of what to expect, there will inevitably be a number of changes and improvements made before they are released.

My, oh, my! Those Brit para's look mighty interesting, I've been waiting for months to catch a glimpse of 'em. I haven't built any MB figures yet, but these look nicely made, I'll place my order asap. Out of interest, how do MB stack up against the competitors size wise? Are they big fellas like VP or teeny tiny like Resicast? A very timely report, thank you Jim Matt

Really superb poses - very unique and very realistic. These would make fantastic dioramas and vignettes.

So good to see those Brit paras at last!! Whats the deal with the poacher/gamekeeper though? He looks more like something out the scottish highlands - is it meant to be a training set? Great Russian sets too, lots of variety, interesting and dramatic poses - enough to make me want to buy some Russian armour!

I think the "Poacher" is a Dutchman showing John Frost the way to the bridge!

I don't think Masterbox is nearly as good as Miniart so far, but they may improve. The Soviet tankmen bailing out look pretty good, and the guys getting their photos taken look quite good also. Ironic that they show the British Airborne working with a civilian, presumably Dutch, since the 1st Airborne Div generally avoided working with Dutch resistance elements. Just saying....still makes a neat scene. Danny Egan AMPS Join us: LINK
