I always appreciate more Anzac figures but have to wonder about some of the faces: he looks like someone hit him on the head with a bat and just came-to. Not exactly a handsome face is it? Rather animated at that.

Well...after all he IS an Aussie! Probably tied on a really big one last night.

The dress is a little unlikely too....battle dress jacket with summer shorts and socks.....bit strange unless it is in winter and he doesn't have his trousers or he's out of summer shirts!

More to the point, what's he doing in a B.D. jacket anyway? Aussies wore the uniform adopted pre-W.W. 1, which had skirts. Battledress wasn't adopted till after W.W. II. I suppose he could have traded/stolen it though. Somewhere I have pix of guys wearing shorts and greatcoats in the desert, so a tunic and shorts are so unbelievable.

Plenty of pictures of Brits in the Desert and Italy wearing the BD jacket with the shorts but not Aussies. And that face looks comical like getting hit by a cricket bat or more likely blind drunk. Look better holding a bottle not a rifle.

Okay, good, it wasn't just me thinking that he looked -literally- smashed; cricket bat or bottle, your choice. And NOT because he's an Aussie. Not knowing any better I had no issues with the BD and shorts combo as it seems from the photo evidence that EVERYONE seemed to be wearing either something like this or a voluminous greatcoat from neck to ankles. Or, if they were gunners, shorts and boots. Ditto for those on the infamous "fatigue details" (now there's an ominous descriptive). Sort of depended on the time of day. Cook during the day and freeze at night.

Personally I love that figure. Looks like he's cracking a joke. That's a change from figure without facial expression. I love his uniform combination. The only comment would be maybe his right forearm, which looks strange depending on the angle. Other than that top notch figure which I'll buy without hesitation
