Interesting version of the Stryker. It seems like some of lacking details on the first Trumpeter stryker have been fixed on this one - at least on the weapons station which looks different on the RV. I still have not decided which Stryker to go for. Thanks for the update

I just recieved mine and Trumpeter is getting the most part of my kit budget. What other company gives you more of a bang for your buck? Besides slat armor and glue,it has everything. Stowage, tie down straps, masking for windshield, beverage and ration boxes,3 figures and what I love about Trumpeter is the option between using PE or molded parts. They are fast becoming or actually are the best for modern kit builders.

My only concern about the Stryker is the statement I saw elsewhere that ALL of them have slat armor if they were in Iraq or Afghanistan. The slat armor PE upgrades are - Ouch - up to $125!!!!

Oops. Should stick to Wehrmacht vehicles where I'm not so far out of my element. But that doesn't change the part about slat armor for anything deployed into combat, correct? Man, $125+, that's a whole quarter's worth of kit- and supply-buying.
SEP 25, 2008 - 10:40 AM
Yes, all Strykers deployed ti combat (i.e. Iraq) have the slat armor installed. You can build one in a training environment in Germany or stateside without slat though.
