I don't know about you guys in the UK, but Sprue Brothers has it for $47.5 + shipping. Even Dragon usa online is selling at the $59.95 MSRP and they claim to have $8 international shipping with Dragon dollar kickbacks, I think that's pretty reasonable. Nathan

Hi Guys, I don't know about the 37mm version but my local hobby shop is asking GBP60.00 for the flakvierling. Ouch!! The same store has the trumpter flakvierling for GBP40.00. I know wihich one will sell most... Unfortunately with Dragon if you fancy one of their kits you are better buying it almost as soon as you see it on the shelf as, unlike Tamiya, they seem to do relatively limited production runs. (eg Tiger 1 early, Puma a/car). Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet & add it to the stash. Personally, the 37mm version appeals to me more. Regards, AndyC.

The DML Sd.Kfz. 7 quad 20mm kit is priced (everywhere I have seen) in the UK at £59.99. There is no reason to believe this new one will be any cheaper - maybe even more? Given that the kits are sold at $US parity or often cheaper in the U.S., it is obviously a case of U.S. modellers won't stand, quite rightly, for being ripped off like we UK ones always seem to be. Distance from HK to the US (West Coast) and the UK are about the same distance (ok about 1000 miles in it) so transport costs can't be a sole or significan deciding factor. Like anything, if they think people will pay it - they will charge it - basic economics. As one reader suggested, buying direct from Dragon as per the ads.may be an attractive alternative but the buyer must bear in mind running the gauntlet of UK Custom Charges, V.A.T. and the punitive £13.50 Post Office "Handling Fee" (Per parcel) ......just to collect the tax from you! Having just got stung with 2 x "Wingnuts Wings" 1/32 WW1 kits it can become a VERY expensive exercise if the parcel(s) get hammered by customs and the Post Office. In the current economic climate as well, this seems to be more often than not. I'm attacking the stash and refuse to pay £60 for a 1/35 kit. If there was some bona fida reason why our kits have to be at least 50% more expensive than what our U. S. friends pay I would stump up - but they don't give one so I won't. If others choose to pay £60.00 ($97.33 at today's official rate) - good luck and enjoy the kit. When prices of DML kits in the Uk have been debated on this forum previously, I have noted that a few US modellers adopt the "pay up or shut up" approach. I do wonder however if those same people would pay out THEIR hard earned bucks if the price were repeated on that side of the Atlantic i.e $97.33 for a 1/35 kit?

I, for one, would not! But, it would really depend on the kit. If someone releases a kit that I just must have, for $97.33, and in 1/35, it better be flawles also for me to actually spend that kind of money. Rob

Well put Gary. Couple that along with differences in the standards of living, national wage averages etc. in comparison and it adds even more to our feeling of discontent here in the UK. With hindsight I wish I'd choosen a different career. Maybe politics. I'm sure as a member of Parliament I could have quite easily got all my modelling costs paid for via my MP allowance and expenses scheme Alan

Best way is let your wallet do the talking, buy elsewhere, if these UK shops think they can charge these prices all power to them, but I wont be paying it.

There is a certain online store that has all the latest Dragon releases in so-called value packs.. The Dragon kit of choice, an older Tamiya release (eg Jagdpanther) and a free gift all for about $10 more than the other online places.. and that is with free postage.. :-)
