Masterbox Ltd. have sent us images of another of the company's WiPs this time with a bovine feel to it.
It was Masterbox Ltd. who, in my opinion, should be given ALL the credit for developing the 'Dio-in-a-Box'. For those unaware of the concept, this means that in a single set of a figures, ALL the figures are related to one another, and, if one so wishes, can be added to a Diorama as they are. It's NO criticism of other company's figures when many of them share simple a common time-period or Uniform or simply nationality but beyond that are not 'interacting' as many of Masterbox's figures ARE.

Here, with Images of (Catalogue Nš 3536), Masterbox's approach is displayed at its best - Four soldiers in the act of milking a 'liberated' cow. Simple but effective - all the elements 'linked'.

An injection-moulded cow in Styrene is ALSO a welcome addition!

Our thanks to Masterbox Ltd. for the Update!

Well, according to my extensive research (which for some strange reason I can't find right now) this cow is totally wrong! They were obliviously trying to model a 1943 Texarcadian Holstineiffer shorthorn. But the tail is exactly 2.757854332% degrees F off kilter and 2.98753mm too heavy. The curve of the dorsal horn is completely wrong for a sow, it's actually closer to that of the rooster of this species (if ewe get my meaning). I can't see anyone buying this kit unless they want to do a lot of scratchbuilding to correct the obvious mistakes!

And, yes, I have actually seen a cow. I even touched one once. But my tape measure batteries were dead so I could not get actual temperature readings at the time.

Yea Bret....I see what you mean. Maybe if we added a few rivets to the cow bell , it would make some of the guys happy. As for the cow paddies well nevermind....probably get censored. Booooooo..... .....Al

I agree, and was about to say the same thing. It's almost always Germans we get doing these more "offbeat" things. Not that I'm complaining, and I'll probably pick it up anyway. It's one of those "might come in useful some time" releases. It looks to be very nicely sculpted. - Steve

Stil waiting on my British POWs thought MB are 'Steps Ahead' when it comes to useful generic type figures, I'm looking forwward to their Royal Engineers and the Bantam coming along. This one will add a lot for the Axis builders through. Al
