I'm not a WW2 guy, but this is interesting, I've got to have one of these. I've thought about building a what-if modern day aerosan, for use on the frozen Great Lakes during a future Second American Civil War. The Soviet WW2 aerosans used 125hp engines, but Detroit Diesel builds much more powerful truck engines nowadays that might be used, if they weren't too heavy for the ice to support.

Folks keep this in mind please. The Soviets/Russian started having these sleds around 1939. So you can use them in different fronts such as Finland, and against the Germans in the Eastern Front. These sleds started as civilian vehicles used to reach out of the way villages in heavy snow or ice for the delivery of needed materials such as food and fuel. Also, a bunch of the sleds were used upto the 1960's after they reverted back to civilian use post W.W.II to perform the same duties they were doing before W.W.II started. Hope this helps. Those aerosans really need an enclosed cab! I'll bet the Finns, Germans and Soviets froze their butts off, racing around in those things. I really hate the cold!
