ICM have just sent us images of their latest Staff Car in 1/35th scale - the six-wheeled Mercedes G4.
The New model announcement is:

35531 - G4 (1939 production), German Car with Passengers

Company-suppled Details:

The three-axle off-road passenger car G4 (W31) was designed dy Daimler-Benz in 1934. This car had 8-cylinder engine of 100 (later 110) hp and 6 passenger seats. Only 72 G4 cars were produced with production stopping in 1939.

Highly detailed chassis, engine and interior. 4 versions decal sheet included. Four figures included
.

Now, not perhaps as widely-used as the other vehicles which ICM have released (and have planned) but not without its interest to those who want a good representative model of one of the more spectacular vehicles of the period.

The images which we have are from the CAD Plans of the model and soon we'll be running images of the actual model and the sprues.

In the meantime, our thanks to Anna of ICM for the welcome Update!

Jeff
I doubt if ICM would be interested as it would mean tooling a Blitz (with the competition in the market, a risky business) and then, to recover their costs, they'd have to issue the Blitz AND the Bus version. No, I think it'll be DML/Cyber-Hobby as they've got the best Blitz on the market - by a long, long way... Just thinking of it though, the possibilities are immense - not least the Post-Bus in Where Eagles Dare!

Nope, the 'current' Holy Grail is the DD Sherman...

Isn't Roden going to produce an Opel Omnibus ? Check the adds at the left side of your screen . I thought the term Postbus was used because it was painted the PO yellow color with the PO trumpet logo on the sides and carried the post / mail ( I've got a few 1/87 scale ROCO buses around somewhere ) Other companys / hotels / resorts had their own buses .

The Roden bus is 1/72nd scale...

Sorry , didn't see the scale . I will now put away the plastic and glue and go play with my trains .

talking about exaggeration... I don't want a bus, plenty people have no interest in a bus...
No disrespect.... but you have your wish list and I have mine... I love softskinned vehicles and would really love to see the Opel bus (non-vacuum formed version) and this really one of the subjects that is overlooked in German soft skins. They were on every front...and the bus from "Where Eagles Dare" with the snow plow would be a VERY cool thing to attempt. The G4 was on the top of my wishlist for a long time....now MY holy grail is the Opel bus....'nuff said. Jeff

I think they came in a number of different paint schemes so you would need to select a specific individual (registration number) if you want absolute accuracy In some museum ? LINK light buff but that may be just the photo in afternoon light LINK Several different, one light and dark and one more uniformly dark (B/W photo ....) LINK three different schemes LINK Video LINK / Robin
