Macone Models are a small Spanish manufacturer producing resin accessories and detailing sets in 1/72 and 1/35. All the sets arrive in a small cardboard box with a photograph of the contents and the components in a small Ziploc bag.
MAC35100 – Concrete blocks
This small set contains 20 hollow cast concrete blocks seen in many buildings each block has a fine web of lash on the base and takes moments to clean up. The blocks themselves are nicely textured on all sides and show a similar texture on the inside faces. There are not enough blocks in one set to produce a large wall but would provide an ideal filler to the corner of a diorama. Additional sets could be purchased and the modeller could well construct a wall or part of one. Priced at €7.95
MAC35105 – Air Conditioner Set 1
This simple set comprises of two air conditioning units seen the outside of many modern buildings. The box contains two resin units two etch frets, two pieces of wire for external plumbing and a single sheet of instructions. The etch frets contain the various grills, fan blades and the support brackets. Priced at €11.90
MAC35106 – Air Conditioner Set 2
This set contains two different style air conditioning units the box contains a similar set of etch and wire the main difference is that the larger unit has twin fans. Priced at €11.90
Highly recommended for all modern diorama fans either as a filler for a corner or with the air conditioning units that can be added to existing buildings or to a scratch built structure.
These sets can be ordered direct from Macone Models (http://www.maconemodels.com) postage is quite reasonable within Europe.
Highs: An original set of ideas and well executed. Hopefully the start of something more.Lows: Only twenty resin blocks in set MAC35100 so the modeller will not be building a large structure.Verdict: Well thought out, a boon for scratch builders or for corners of dioramas/vignettes.
