Remember Market Garden! This kit is made for a diorama during that campaign. Seeing this kit hits two hot spots in the diorama world - British Gear and it's unique.
The box and parts
Great Custom Dioramics fair here. It's nicely packaged in the typical styrene box that is 2.5 x 2.75 x .75 inches. Inside is a ziplock back keeping the two supply containers in check.
The box art is very nicely done and will be your guide to painting the kit. There are only two pieces to this kit and there is no assembly required.
The pieces are molded with a resin block the entire length of each of the parts. This will appear to be easy to remove with a razor saw. Don't jump at just chopping it straight off with one flat cut. Use two cuts, at 45 degress from the resin block and 90 degrees from the other cut. If you cut just once you have a larger chance of cutting a flat spot in your part. The multi-cut process reduces the chance for a large flat spot. You could even try three cuts. The resin Custom Dioramics uses is very easy to work with, it is firm yet workable. These blocks aren't large, so it shouldn't be a big problem.
The detail on these parts is great. It is all crisp and clean. And accurately represents the containers. There is the harness for the parachute which even has details for buckles. Each end is molded with nice details and along the spine are hinges molded in, very nice.
This is one of those kits that you will buy if you are modeling British campaigns or are a fan of British gear. I personally would not keep these on hand just in case I need them. Knowing they exist I would definitely add these to a diorama at a moments notice.
If this is your subject area then you will want these.
Need that something special for your Bridge To Far diorama? This pair of simple containers is the kit you need.
