Introduction

I cannot remember having seen a release like this from Tankograd Publishing previously, but here we have it a Year Book. This offering looks at the vehicles in use with the German Army at this time and so will provide a host of images.

The following portion of the introduction is provided by Tankograd Publishing:
The Tankograd-YEARBOOK provides an overview over the in-service armoured vehicles of the Modern German Army and updates Tankograd‘s vehicle monographs published over the past years by describing and listing all main types, their variants, showing technical data of the basic variant and all quantities in service.

Review

This new release from Tankograd Publishing is authored by Ralph Zwilling. The book has been printed in a portrait style and consists of 120 pages; these are protected by a soft backed cover of stiff card. The paper in this title is a good quality gloss paper that does a good job of presenting the reader with high quality images of the subject matter. This is a duel language offering from Tankograd with German on the left and English on the right of each page.

The first couple of pages of this title provide an introduction to the author in both German and English. There is also an introduction by Lieutenant General Carsten Jacobson. Finally here you are provided with a guide to getting the most from each entry in this title.

This title looks at the vehicles in segments of one to three pages. The text as stated is provided in both German and English, the text itself presents the reader with general information on the specific vehicle. Regardless of how many pages are dedicated to a subject the first page is where the text is and at the bottom of that page you are provided with technical data on the vehicle. The technical data area is in German only, but that does not matter as it is still easy to understand. Another box on the right hand side of the page provides the exact variant and how many of that variant are in service with the German Army.

The photographs in the book are of the very high standard full colour offerings that I have come to expect from Tankograd when covering a current vehicle. Due to the intention of this title the photographs are broad views of the vehicle overall rather than close ups of specific areas. All told a great selection of images that I cannot fault.

Conclusion

This offering from Tankograd Publishing is an excellent one stop look at the current hardware of the German Army in its current state. The text provides a pleasing introduction and also offers a series facts on the vehicles. The pictures are of a very high quality and a joy to look at. I cannot fault this offering from Tankograd and highly recommend it at its price of €19.90.

Tankograd has always offered great, detailed photos, and to now have the Bundeswehr armour in one detailed book is really appealing to so many of us.
