Introduction

Djiti Production has released some new resin figures in 1/35th scale covering three of the major powers of World War 2. The one covered in this review is a US WW2 Tanker in a kneeling position that makes it a nice figure to add to your build.

Review

The figure is provided packed inside a clear plastic blister pack with a hanging tab present. This is a nice approach for anyone who wants to keep their purchases safe when not being utilised straight away. If further protected by a cardboard box the item should survive postage well in most cases. Inside is a paper insert showing the figure included and the product information. The parts that make up the resin figure are packed inside a Ziploc plastic bag with all of the parts arriving as intended.

A look over the various parts that make up this figure show very little to be concerned about, my only worry is the detail around the face and the face itself. I did find a couple of very small air bubbles in the photographs that I could not see on the figures with my eyes alone, as such I am not overly concerned about these. The stance of the figure kneeling on one knee and hands resting on the legs is a pleasing offering that has a host of display options, perhaps on the German tank that has been destroyed.

The detail of the uniform is first rate in my opinion and depicts a short jacket with excellent elasticated seams around the waist and wrists that should shine when painted. The pockets are very well represented and have a nice gap look to them as if containing something. The front zip is partially undone and so the jacket gaps open, I particularly like the detail here as even the wring pull of the zip is replicated. The only thing here I can criticise is the thickness of the collar.

The trousers or what is more likely the bottoms of coveralls have nice detail present again the zip portion being well done. The crease detail throughout the clothing is good being both natural and well placed in my opinion. The boots look good and have very pleasing lace detail present. The belt is another very pleasing aspect of this figure with the eyes for securing the belt being a very nice aspect of the area. The figure has a M1911 holster present that has been embossed with ‘US’ where it should be and look to be in scale to me.

The generic tankers helmet of the period looks to be very well replicated and most importantly accurate. The vented detail has been tackled well to the point that what I initially thought was an air bubble turned out to be a detail of the helmet. The face of the figure initially looks to be out of scale, but once added to the figure it looks right as indicated by the photographs of the assembled figure. A close look at the face does show that the detail is not the best available, but I have watched Djiti Product progress over time and the detail on facial features is perhaps one of the last areas where they need to progress. The hands of the figure are reasonable with individual fingers and thumbs clearly visible. The proportions are good and look to have good detail on the palms and also have nice knuckle detail where the fingers are bent.

Conclusion

This figure has a combination of a nice pose that also offers a wide range of positioning as a standalone effort or a figure combined with others. The clothing detail is excellent with no complaints that I can level at it. The face is lacking a little in detail and only really looks right when added to the figure, but is still short on detail. The hands are good and I believe that a grease gun could be placed in one if desired without any difficulty. I would have liked the connectors I have seen on the previous figures to be present on this one in order to insure accurate placement of parts.
