introduction
Bravo 6 brings us another great-looking figure in their Vietnam War series representing the characters from the popular movie Platoon. Bravo 6 is a new resin company out of Russia who has made a big impression with their initial figure releases. They have chosen to represent the characters from Platoon and this figure represents Tom Berringer's character, SSG Barnes.
review
The figure is packaged in a sturdy card stock box with a picture showing the completed and painted figure. Further, it is packaged inside a ziploc bag to contain the individual pieces. My sample came with no damaged or broken pieces. Also included is a decal sheet with unit insignia, US Army tapes, and name tapes. The figure is cast in a medium grey resin that is very smooth and bubble-free and with no flash. The resin holds crisp details and fine folds well. The pour blocks are placed in good locations to reduce any damage from removing them.

SSG Barnes is broken down into three main pieces of body, right arm holding a weapon, and left arm pointing. Most of the gear is molded onto the figure. There are a few more pieces such as a sprue with 4 grenades, another with gear such as two canteens, an M1911 .45 caliber pistol in holster, a first aid pouch, and a fighting knife. The molded on gear includes an ammo bandoleer, ammo pouches, and ARVN Ranger rucksack. The gear is all molded very well and represents the type worn in Vietnam well. He is carrying what is supposed to be a CAR-15 (the early carbine model of the M16), but as has been noted in another review of Bravo 6's SGT Elias figure, the weapon may be correct for the movie, but is not the type carried in Vietnam. The flash suppressor is a later type, not the three-prong Vietnam-era style.

The casting and level of detail is very good. The scar on Barnes' face is even captured well and looks very realistic. The folds of the uniform and gererall appearnce are very life-like as well. Overall it is a great figure.

The only downfall I can see is with the decals. I applaud Bravo 6 for including the decals, but they are not accurate in their color. The unit patches and name tapes should be OD Green with black lettering and details. The decals on my sample are very yellow in color and do not look accurate at all. They will need to be replaced with decals from either Verlinden or Echelon.
conclusion
This is a very good figure and represents a soldier in Vietnam well. Bravo 6 has done a great job of bringing SSG Barnes to life in 1/35 scale. I welcome more figures in this line. They can be used as any Vietnam-era figures and will look great with an M113 or a Huey.
SUMMARY
Highs: Detailing and casting are very fine. The figure represents a Vietnam infantryman well. Good representation of gear carried and of his uniform.
Lows: The decal sheet is off in color and the CAR-15 is not totally accurate for a Vietnam version.
Verdict: A very well executed figure of a great subject. Bravo 6 has hit a home-run with this line of figures and I hope they continue with it. Great job and keep it up.

If you can't find the figures at Telford, they are available online I ordered all 3 figures from Hobbyeasy.com and they arrived within a week, with the shipping they worked out to about £11 each, they're worth every penny when you see the detail. Cheers David
