The build part of this review is fairly straight forward and simple. There isn't a lot to this kit; boxes, ammunition and spent shells.

Resin

The resin that Black Dog uses is consistently stantly good and this kit overall does not disappoint. The one let down to this kit is the tips of the ammunition. The resin didn't quite make it all the way to the tip and there are bubble gaps in the tip of all of them.

Cleanup for all the parts was quite easy and straight forward. Resin blocks were in good spots and leave no problems.

Paint

Painting was done with a base of acrylics with oil over coats. On top of that was some oil dry brushing and oil washes.

Details

Looking at the simplicity of this kit you may not expect much in the way of detail. I did, and I was wrong. The boxes have great detail. It starts with nice graining, add in nice hinges, toss in some nice rope handles and interior details on the open boxes.

One way to show the detail is to compare these boxes to a 'standard' box from Tamiya. The Tamiya box is 'flat' and smooth and has very rudimentary hinges and very simple rope handles. You can see from the sprue shots and finished shot just how different the two boxes are.

Fit

The size of these parts is a bit better than some of the other Black Dog kits. If anything the ammo is a bit short. Overall you won't really notice a size problem.

Overall

This is a must have diorama kit for any 88mm diorama. The detail really makes these pieces 'pop' and they will add great depth to any project. They outshine Tamiya kits parts.

SUMMARY
Highs: Great detail, nice total kit - all parts are here.
Lows: Bubble pits at the tips of the war heads.
Verdict: Must have, great addition, imporves over mass produced parts.
