G.I Walking with Jerry Can

by: Rob Lively [ HUSKY1943 ]

Double Duty
This is the first Warriors figure I have ever worked on, and I have to say that I was excited when I opened the box. This resin figure represents a generic GI that could be used in either ETO or the Pacific. The figure is sculpted by Anders Heintz (Anders).

Parts and flash
The figure consists of separate parts including a one-piece torso and leg combination, separate arms (the can is molded to the left hand) head, helmet and canteen. Flash was a problem and cleaning the pour stubs proved tricky, especially removing it from the top of the helmet (I mean, if you don't get it perfectly round, the helmet will look funny or "dented") Unfortunately, I sliced the delicate fingers off his right hand, so that now all of them are the same length (battlefield injury).

Construction
The figure went together okay, but some putty was needed on the shoulder joints. I became even more excited when the figure was together. I didn't add helmet straps, but I did shave the shoulder straps of the blouse to make him a private in the 1st Infantry Division serving in Sicily. I really wanted to paint it. I was struck by the relaxed and lifelike pose of the figure.

Painting
I painted him using a variety of paints; Model Master Acrylics and Vallejo Acrylics being the predominant colors used.

SUMMARY
This figure was fun to build and paint and includes detail that is is eye-popping. Though clean up and fit took a little work, I recommend this figure.
