Armor35 has been busy creating figures to enhance their 1/35 offerings with this relaxed Wehrmacht Infanterist.

ARM35104 German Soldier of WWII is sculpted in a pose that imparts, to me, a relaxed yet cocky countenance. His equipment suggests pulling guard duty.

Armor35 packs the model in a small zip-lock baggies contained in a nicely decorated small top-opening box. The box art - a color photo of the painted model superimposed over a faint sepia related scene - is attractive and eye-catching. (But you didn't come to this review to read of my graphic tastes.)

Inside are six gray resin parts held on four pour-sprues:

1. Head with Stahlhelme helmet
2. Body sans head
3. Mauser K98k rifle
5. M31 Feldflasche Canteen; Tragebusche fluted steel gasmask container; bayonet frog for the K98 bayonet

This Sandlatschen ("sand traipser", like "Dogface" for American and "Tommy" for British soldiers) is sculpted by Anishchenko Dmitriy. The hefty body appears naturally proportioned in a relaxed standing pose, sharply detailed with deep folds on the Feldbluse (Field Tunic) Model 1936 uniform, 'bread bag,' and belt with Kar98 ammo pouches. He is not wearing his Y-strap equipment harness.

There are some casting blemishes: outside of the left boot, rear of right boot; upper right shoulder; center back of helmet; left stock of the K98k. Fortunately, they mainly disappeared under paint.

Detail

Feldbluse detail includes Litzen on the collars and the shoulder straps have waffenfarbe piping. The Wehrmachtsadler eagle is clearly seen. Plenty of buttons and cloth seams are sculpted, plus the belt buckle has good detail.

This Stoppelhopser ("Stubble hopper") has a well sculpted face that looks cocky and relaxed. The knuckles on the hand are sharp, too. Facial detail includes eyes but how one is to properly paint them under that helmet is a mystery to me!

Detail and pouring of the K98 is good but it looks like the bolt material did not seat into the stock well. The bayonet is attached. The rifle is bowed although that might have happened while washing it with hot water.

The canteen, gasmask container and bayonet frog are exceptional. Note the stitching on the frog!

The rifle and helmet have pour stems that could complicate removal from the sprues. Careful!

assembly and painting instructions

None. Assembly should be easy while you must seek references for painting.

conclusion

I think this is a very interestingly posed figure. With only one cartridge pouch set, no "Y" harness, the attached bayonet and the relaxed pose he screams "behind the lines bored." The pose looks like he is fidgeting while looking for something interesting. It should add a great deal of unique personality to your diorama or figure collection.

Sculpting is very good and detail is amazing. Casting of the figure has a few minor rough areas. Paint generally hid the casting blemishes. Also, the Kar98 looks a little rough. This was a very enjoyable model to paint. Recommended!
