Hi Paul i'm glad were of at least, i think i have a good idea for my entry in this campaign, maybe it will surprise you because you made (in the Ardennes Campaign) a stug called "wolf in sheeps clothes" but i'm going backwards because i will make a German in U.S. M.P. outfit haha :-) .
These Germans were specially trained for this job!

Got the PM you sent and I'm currently working on a N.C. State Highway Patrol car, if that's okay for the campaign.

I'm going to knock out two birds with one stone. I'm going to build a model of My Hmmwv from my MP unit.

That way I can do the Service with Pride campaign, and the MP campaign

Just joined and have a Tamiya HMMWV in progress. Those suckers build quickly, so I don't expect too much trouble.

I also inadvertantly posted this in a different forum, so here is the link to that.

Good deal. I've got it going and should have plenty of time to finish it along with the other two builds I've got going for two other campaigns.

I think I'll be doing a small Dio of an incident we had with one of our MP jeeps on Ft.Polk (circa 1983) that involved an armadillo....and an article 15 ....wasn't me....I promise.

I was a much better driver than that.

OK, here's my share in this Campaign:

In 2004 I was visiting a memorial day in the local warmuseum (Wings Of Liberation at Best, The Netherlands) and it was pretty fun. All sorts of reanactors, guest vehicels etc. I was taking a whole bunch of pictures while suddenly there was a load:

BEEP!!! BEEP!!!

Turned arround to see what it was, there came this beautifull Beetle arround a corner. Just racing like Herbie.
The British used impounded German Wehrmacht VW Beetles for MP goals just after the war.
This one was a beauty and I felt for it!
2 MP's and a real MP doggie were pushing theirselfs out of the little vehicle, so I had to get those too!

I'm planning to kitbash Italeri's VW Beetle that is originaly a DAK version. There are British decals in the box, however I don't think the MP's used open topped Beetles, so the only big kitbash is closing the roof.
Also found an old Verlinden set with 2 British police men. Just have to find a suitable dog in 1:35...

More pictures (also with the dog) on this page

Hey Adam!

I'm not in to modern that much, but I think this one is looking sharp allready. I like the hatch in the roof and the AM General sign in the back.
What brand is this Hummer from, Academy, Tamiya?
I read in your campaign project description that's it gonna be the vehicle you drive?!
Looking forward to it!

Well I've started on my Tamiya Hummer. but I have suffered a set back. The steering column (not the steering wheel) has been eaten by the hardwood floor monster.

I started on my M1025 HMMWV for the MP campaign a few days ago and it is progressing rather quickly. I am updating the Tamiya ODS-era Humvee to an OIF configuration and am using the Blast Model's Weapons set.

One question I have is whether or not the gun shield is allowed to be used with the Mk 19 attached (my M2 came with a bent barrel and a warped cooling jacket, so the already bent barrel droops).

I still need to look at the On Point publication's Order of Battle to cross-check the kit decals to see if any were sent to Iraq.

The kit is in four large sections: chassis, frame/floor, top, and engine hood, plus numerous small sections including the turret and mount and Mk19.

I'll post pics of my model later, but here are some pictures of the truck that I am modelling. It is My Humvee from my reserve MP unit. This truck DID go to Iraq with the Three color NATO camo still applied.

Darktrooper...the Iraqi's didn't use it for target practice I hope? Can you tell us the story behind it? Why did it went to Iraq like that; simply forgotten to paint over, or was there a reason to do so? Becomes a great model by the way!

Snowhand, thanks for that link. I added to my favourite links!

Since our company was an EPW/ CI (Enemy Prisoner of War/ Civilian Internee) Guard Unit, We were at a prison camp so painting our vehicles desert sand wasn't a high priority. Only about 50% of our vehicles actually got painted tan.
