I totally agree on the seize of the leafes on the net, they are too big, but this is my "experimental" way to do it so I will get it better next time... hopefully...
I made the net out of Parafilm, a masking product used by aircraft modellers. I used a 3mm woodcarving iron to stipple a pattern like this
When the cutting was completed I streched the parafilm in all direction to get some structure in the net. I experimentet with tissue and silk paper but found Parafilm the easiest to work with. With some more training (and perhaps a new cutting tool) I think this will work out better than the "cheese cloth and oregano methode" for a modern camo net.
The vehicle was weathered with Mig pigments and actual dust from the training field. The "reddish" color is more due to a mismatch between the light and my cameras white balance.
