Mr. Peddinghaus who produced the Kit EPHS239 some years ago, i.e. a resin turret for Leopard A1-A1/A1-A5, is in question to produce a new batch if the turret is wanted by the modelers.

If you are interested have a look into this discussion:

http://www.network54.com/Forum/169232/message/1212796897/Leopard+1+A5+turret+Peddinghaus

You can find images of the turret and fine comparison images of the Revell turret.

Harald,

What is the status of this? Last week there was a Peddinghaus turret in Germany on eBay (item 230373365824) that sold for $50. Grey resin and the instruction sheet looks a bit different as well.

Hallo, Paul,

I phoned Mr. Peddinghaus. He told me that less than 10 conversions of the newer production are available at present. But he is waiting for the next batch.
What you found in ebay [http://www.ebay.de/ then copy the item number 230373365824 into the search line] seems to be one of the newer release.
What I do not understand is the fact that I did not find the conversion in his internet-shop anywhere. So one has to ask for it. As I forgot to ask I do not know a price. Less than ebay I guess!

Mr. Peddinghaus announced two decal sheets for October, one for early Bundeswehr covering vehicles like M 47, M 48, M113, a Leopard 1 A5 and some wheeled vehicles. The second sheet will cover the middle Bundeswehr (as he called it) up to Leopard 1 A4 with accompanying vehicles like Marder, Wolf, Unimog.
Of interest may also be a decal sheet of German ISAF for the vehicles used with these troops, but there is no Leopard of course.

Now, that’s what I learned. I hope it gives enough info. Otherwise perhaps you send him a mail.

Harald

Thanks for the update......put a bug in his ear to include decals for the German Marder 1A5s in the ISAF decal set.

Jason,

I phoned Mr. P. again and was told that the Marder mentioned on the ISAF sheet (EP 1927) is to be the Marder 2A5. Unfortunately I am not familiar with Marder. So I cannot say it is correct.

Re: Leopard 1 A5 turret (order no. 239)
Mr. P. will be on an exhibition for 1:6 models in the Netherlands on 10.10.2009. There he’ll meet the Dutch caster of the resin parts hoping that the release can be accelerated.
If the delivery of a larger number is done, Mr. P. will add a small decal set to the turret containing markings for at least two Leopard 1 A5. Then the conversion will be added to the internet shop, too. He said that it made no sense to offer before he could deliver, understandable isn't it.
Present price of the turret conversion is 25,00 Euro. I do not know if it is higher with the decals.

That’s the latest news.

Harald

p.s.
The turret conversion which Paul had seen on ebay was the newer production I know now. So my guess that Peddinghaus offers it at a better price was not wrong.

Harald,

Thanks. Great news about the turret and the decals. I got the newsletter but didn't see the modern decals mixed in with the airplane decals before I deleted it.
