Hello all,

Well I am gretting ready to add some troops and equipment to my Bradley and had a couple of questions.

1) Does anybody know the dimensions for the US army's sleeping matts, I was planning to do some using lead foil, but was not sure about size.

2) Does anyone have the Verlinden 0368 Backpacks (modern set), is it worth the money and what does it contain?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

I think the sleeping mats that I have seen are close to an inch thick. Lead foil might too thin for the scale. Just my $.02

My advice will be to wait.

DML's new Marines will have the MOLLE vest current to today's Army standards and Warriors said they will do a modern figure line of something.

Also, Tamiya plans to release an updated M2A2 and U.S. modern gear set with lots of back and buttpacks. The post in on page two or three of Missing-Links "Modern" DG---you can see photos there.

IF you do have an old Tamiya M2A2 that needs troops, I would buy the DML U.S. Spec Forces for that has backpacks and then Tamiya's Modern Infantry Set for the kevlar helmets. You'll have to make chinstraps though.

Chris, I bought a set of the Verlinden backpacks ages ago, it is a really nice set with the following provisos: you really don't get an awful lot for the price.secondly as we're talking about making a Brad look 'occupied' at least two sets are going to be necessary per vehicle and the standard u.s. kitbag is going to have to be scratch-built (or used from the Legend set. I'm not 100% decided yet but what I'm going to do is the following: I'm going to do a master for the kit bag in Milliput and I'm going to attempt to mold some. I've got enough fotos to get the dimensions more or less right and if this comes off then I'll start with the crew Bergens, sorry, rucksacks using the verlinden set to get the scale right. I'll keep you posted, Jim
