I got an early start this morning and got all the markings painted on using stencils, and then glossed the wole shottin' match. Will let this dry for a few hours while I get some more outdoor work taken care of, then begin the weathering process. I noticed a few small pin holes on the rear area, but they shouldbe easy to fill with some white glue, and a quick touch up of paint. The Lion Roar stencils worked really well, but were difficult to line up 100%. As it is they both match and I can live with that. I used Eduard Quick Masks for the "R III" markings on the side of the vehicle. Those were very easy to use. Shame that they are a one shot use though. I plan on going back over all the markings to tone them down and blend them in more with the rest of the vehicle later. Anyway, here is were she sits now. Thanks, "Q"

Here is my contribution to the "What If" campaign. This is my first 35th scale kit build in over 30 plus years! That's right I'm an old dude!!!

The build stated out life as the Turmpeter E10 kit. Increased the armor thickness both on the glacis front and rear plates. Extended the upper interior compartment spacing out to over the tracks just ahead of the engine compartment. Used late production (reverse opening) Tiger II hatches. Aber late production tool clamp and accessory photo etch and the Tamiya panzer IV on vehicle equiptment sets used throughout. Scratch made many pieces throughout including the side skirt tubular brackets (side skirts not mounted yet). Adeler Nest MG34 brass barrel.

Amour Scale late model Hetzer 75mm Pak 39 L/48 turned aluminum barrel. Modified Jadgpanzer IV manlet.

Tamiya drive sprocket and idler wheels with Dragon E100 road wheels for the running gear. Friulmodel Tiger II transport tracks.

Haven't decieded on the paint scheme yet. Hope you like it?

Andrew S. That's an amazing turret on your E100 not to mention that huge weapon just waiting to put some real pain to anyone wishing to challenge that beast?

Eddy
i like what youve done with all those parts
good use of transport tracks
and the e100 wheels
the widened compartment over the tracks would be usefull for extra rounds
i like the extra armour too
its hard deciding on german cammo as theres so many ways of painting them
im looking forward to seeing your paint scheme
im not sure what way to paint my e100 b

Also added some Leopard II smoke lauchers.

Andrew, is there anything you don't build that looks awesome? Nice work on the E100B. The Octo scheme would look great on that. Eddy, that E10 is impressive. Nice use of parts other than the kits to make it look better. The E25 I posted pics of are a friend of mines. I could only wish it was my work, but I will tell him you approve.
I got a lot done today on my Pather-thing. Got the washes on, and added a dot filter to it....not crazy about that as it altered the color more than I would have liked, but I am moving on. Began the weathering and am just about complete with that part of it. Painted the roadweels and took a que from Steve's E25 that he has as a feature in that I painted a couple of the pieces in red oxide primer and will leave them that way. It adds a bit of color to the build and interest..IMHO. Worked on the side skirts before dinner, and got them banged up and primered. Will get some paint on them after I get these pics posted. Lots of nice pieces being posted here guys. Keep at it! Thanks, "Q"

Eddy, Your E10's a litlle beast certainly earns the name "Hetzer" the name earmarked for the series.

Matt, your panther-thing is awesome i really enjoy how you've placed the zimmeritt like it was just being reused again by the Heer. the scratches you have done so far are great.

Andrew, love the E100 ausf B, im just wondering what you made the mantlet out of looks like some sort of fibre based substance.

Heres some more work on the E-10 GreSt, i manged to make some controls for the flak gun by useing a trigger assembly from a mg34 a scissor periscope for sights (which i have to edit)plastic card supports and a manltet cover made out of masking tape.

I made a spare wheel mount on the rear of the hull that it was so perfect that barely touched The GreSt for the rest of the day. i tried weathring techniques on the right hand side of the vehicle which i was impressed with, and the barrel has broken off after a unfortunate accident invovling my girlfriend, her hand bag and my modeling desk... i will wait until it is safe to reattach it.
heres the pics

I haven't gotten anything more done on my Panther conversion. Spent most of the last two days working on 1:1 projects around the house. Hoping to get re-energized and start in on it again this evening. Need to rest and recoop first. Long days and hard work have caught up to me... arrgh. More progress soon. Thanks, "Q"
ps. The Superdingo is looking better each time I see it. Keep at it.

Guys-
I haven't done a thing on mine either. The other day the subject of re-modeling my workshop came up. My wife and I agreed that now was a good time (budget wise) to do it. So rather than wait for the planets to align again I started ripping into it.

Just as well- because as I watched Mathew, Andrew, Matt, Eddy and John upping the ante over the last few posts, All I could think was "Man- glad this isn't a poker game!"

"I FOLD"

Anyway- I will be back up and running in 10 days or so. Meanwhile I will be watching you guys.

Keep up the excellent work!

this is one i built when i got back into building tanks
a few years ago
its an italeria tiger
with a scratch built hull with sloping armour
the turret was done to resemble a king tiger only a bit bigger
i kept the tiger mantlet and muzzle brake and used a plastic paintbrush handle as a barrel
i never did get round to painting the tools
which wouldnt take long
then i could weather it
im going to use the same pattern for my e100b only ill use 2 tones of grey
well thats the plan anyway
regards andrew

Well I made a little bit of progress. For the first time I used the PE tool holders. Man what a tedious process that is. I only used some of them as my fingers began to cramp up on me from holding the parts and removing all the molded on detail that was to be replaced. The only item I skipped it on was the fire extinguisher as my fingers were really hurting by this point.
:(
I got the pioneer tools painted and added to my build as well as the spare tracks. Began the weathering on the tools, but had to stop as it was time to get ready for work....I hate that. I get into a groove, then have to put the brakes on due to work...arrgh. Anyway, here it is. Lots more work to do yet. Thanks, "Q"
Sorry about the color...camera was going goofy on me. Need to dial in the settings at some point.

Hey all,
I am simply wondering if I can join with a zombie control vehicle. I am a huge horror movie fan, and I have always loved zombie movies that somehow involve vehicles meant to brave zombie hordes. So... in short. Is it acceptable to make a zombie war survival/assault vehicle?

Mike C.,

Sounds interesting! I for one am curious to see your "zombie control vehicle". I say bring it on!!!

Matthew Q.,

Making excellent progress on your Panther thingy. I sympthize with you concerning photo-etch tool clamps and tools with the molded on clamps. Yeap, cramped fingers and running into the street at night screaming!!! Nice E100 too! Are you using anything to help you thin the Squadron putty to help aid spreading out the zimmerit over the bare plastic with the photo-etch zim tool?

Andrew S.,

Thinking along the lines of using panzer gray and dark yellow in the paint scheme but haven't come up with a pattern as of yet. You have some awsome looking well thought out vehicles . . . to cool!

Steve R.,

Can't wait to see your forward motion vehicle completed. Looks like an interesting subject.

Mathew,

Like your E-10 GreSt project. It's coming along very nicely.

Graeme D.,

Very nice conceptual vehicle that Bobcat II. Looks fantastic.

And thanks for all of the nice comments. Really appreaciate it.

Thanks for the kudos. The E-100 isn't mine but a friends. I believe he wasn't using anything to smooth it out, just working very fast. I, on the other hand, used TestorsLiquid Cement to help keep my PE blade from clogging, and cleaned it off every few swipes. Still kind of clumped here and there, but added to the overall hastily field applied effect I was going for. Just a few more little doo dads of PE to add to my beast and I can continue with the build and weathering. I forgot how involved an armor piece can get.. Thanks again for the kudos. "Q"

Guys-
this Campaign is off to a great start for sure! It is a real pleasure to look at all of your projects.

I just want to share this with you. A super nice "What-If" 1946 German scheme by Brian Murdoch:

(PLEASE NOTE: Not my work - But I like this scheme a lot!!!)

It was posted on M-L a while back-- Here:

http://www.network54.com/Forum/110741/thread/1235654362/A+couple+of+paper+panzers

I'd love to see that on an E-100 or Eddy's E-10.

Now I will ramble through my impressions.

Mike C- Zombie Control Vehicle- thats a fit here! Dive in and post it up.

Matthew Q., The Panther SPG is looking great. I actually like the rough zimmerit. Your tools and chipping effects are excellent as well.

Chad- based upon past posts there are going to be a few 1946 Shermans in this campaign.I am looking forward to what shakes out Sherman-wise.

Great Stuff All! Steve

If you haven't read it already, you should pick up World War Z. Lots of good Zack fighting!
