Only thing im thinking of now is what to do with it to make it look extra special and different to all the others that im sure people will start building........looks like i may be ordering you humvee CD soon Rob! |

Robert. Just when I was lamenting the dearth of modern content, along comes this beauty. Looks kinda familiar but with Frag 6 doors, very nice and very current, I can't wait to get my hands on one. Thanks for brightening up my day. Bill |

Wow...That looks absolutely amazing. That will be a must-have for me! I've got to ask.....Is the gun shield upside down? That just doesn't look right. Nevermind, that armor configuration is the "Frag Kit 6" and the gunshield is oriented correctly. |

Rob, as a matter of fact, our SF battlewagons looked slightly different, (beefier bumper, different interior arrangement, hood scoops...) so I certainly won't discourage you from getting the CD. |

Well i'll see how the money is and may have a CD off you then, im just thinking that we will no doubt see a lot of these built all rather standard looking and Id rather make a slightly more obscure looking thing. Definitely going to try and scratch build the bumper set up.
I just hope they come out with a Frag 5 kit now... |

I had sent my specks for the FRAG 5 doors to Mother so perhaps what ever he has going on will bear some fruit one day. Having all this though is absolutely stunning, what a huge leap forward. Did you build up the examples Rob? Bill |

I keep going back and looking at the pictures over and over. I'm just dumbfounded at how awesome that conversion kit looks.
The only question I have, since I haven't seen one in person, is the turret armor going to look thick enough in scale? I would think the PE parts would be too thin to give the proper scale thickness. Of course, the armor on the real turrets may not be very thick.
Just a point that I'm pondering. |

The p-etch is always a bit thin, but they make great templates to convert over to plastic sheet. |

A very interesting addition for Hummer fans.
Just a general question. With all of these new armour packages being developed for the HMMWV, do these kits stay on once the vehicle is rotated back to the states? |

Man its like Christmas has come early, gonna get me two of these The PE will defo be way too thin but I'll use the set as stencil for cutting plactic card to complete the turret etc ..I hope the M1114 Up-Armored Humvee (Heavy Variant) with "Ibis Tek Bumper" might be considered soon too.. |

actually the gun sheild is on right, it s mounted that way so that when the gunner is sitting down they can see through the glass at the bottom.
With the model the BFT Antenna is mounted in the wrong spot though, it goes up above the TC's side of the windshield. |

Rick I searched my Frag 6 HMMWV files to disprove your statement about the BFT always being over the passenger window and I could not find one picture (FRAG 6) with the BFT anywhere but over the windscreen. I know I have some but I'll have to go deep to find them and they may not be FRAG 6, most probably FRAG 5 or earlier. Doesn't this guy look familiar? And notice the vehicle is kitted out totaly unconventionally, no battery on turret etc. this has to be 18Bravo. |

Those picture Bill posted also show to some degree the thickness of the turret armor, I believe that the PE parts should be plenty thick enough, considering as well the thickness when scaled down. |

I'd kill for a plastic 1114, but in the meantime the Mig productions one is quite good.... Cheers Sean |

That's a nice ammo can mod in your last pic, Bill. I drilled holes in mine and added them to the turret using the existing bolts. Also did one turret up with an exterior can for the BA-5590's, the batteries for the Hellfighter. |

Boogie, that is where I said it was. over the TC's windsheild, for me the TC (truck commander) always sits in the right front seat. So your pics prove what I was saying. Now the other pics, well I've never seen those where the BFT is mounted on the right rear of an M1151, or above the drivers windshield. But of course the Marines do things weird anyway
