(First off, I sold this kit to Olivier, noted for disclosure).

Nice review Olivier. I agree with both the high and low points. Much of the T-80 series is in flux and motion now that Sergej is vacuum casting. He is working on a new lower hull for the T-64, I hope to convince him to do the T-80 next.

Glad to see reviews of SP Designs stuff going up.

Olivier,

Thanks for the review, that'll make for a very interesting variant, even if it is just a prototype. With the garish camouflage (as per the Concord book) it'll surely stand out

Cheers,

thanks for the review Olivier!
the casting of the parts looks a bit superior over my T80U which is a good conversion!
The finished model on the russian forum is a very good advertising for the product, when i'll have a return of money i'll take in order the T80UM1 too.
A question Olivier, could you say which are the lengh of the barrel and diameter?

Can't wait to see futures SP's kits with new casting process. If it permit to have improve NSVT machine gun (using Tamiya's as a base) for example it will be top class conversions.

Salutations

Hi Stephane,
here are the measurements I took with my ruler, sorry I don't have a more precise tool at hand.

Total length from the mantlet collar to muzzle 12,95 cm which makes 4,532 m in 1/1 scale
Inner diameter (caliber) 3,8 mm which makes 133 mm (so a bit over sized)
Muzzle outer diameter 5,5 mm which makes 192,5 mm.

I wish someone sold the SP stuff in Europe, and I mean the EU with that.....

Hi Sergej.

I think Mat means he would like to have a seller that is located in the European Union to buy the kits from.

Sergej,

I think Jacques is right, he's looking for a vendor in the European Union, so that your kits would be easier to get for him.

On a related note, I just received your T-64U and T-80UM-1 conversions from Jacques (sent from the Ukraine to the US and now to the UK ), and they look great! Some work to be done, but overall very much improved over your earlier releases. It'll be fun to build both of them, as well as the T-80U Model 93/94 I already have.

I look forward to future releases.

Cheers,

Olaf
