I am actually considering the RAAC Centurion myself, of course there are about 30 different kits I want to build for this campaign

And a Hemi, especially an early one, would be great for that Jeep as well. Jeep has changed hands a couple of times and has been part of the Mopar family for several decades, but well after the horsepower wars. Either way is a good call bud

Sal: Got some more ideas for you bud!
105 mm M2A1 (M101A1) howitzer
75mm Pack Howitzer M1
Willys MB
M8 Greyhound
Amtrac
M16 Halftrack(Quad AA version of the M3)
Supposedly small numbers of Shermans were used, perhaps 76mm M4A3 and/or M4A6 variants?
Centurion tank This tank was designed during WWII, but wasn't put into service until 1945. It may be a bit of a stretch for you, but it is certainly something to consider

Or if you want to go to the other side, we have:
37 mm automatic air defense gun M1939 (61-K)
82-PM-41 mortar
107mm M1938 mortar
M1938 120-millimeter mortar
122mm guns of some type, perhaps the 122 mm howitzer M1938 (M-30)?
T-34/85

How's that for a list of WWII items my good man?

Jeremy, Thanks for the list of items there, I dont think I have any of that stuff in my stash but I was looking for an F-4 the other night

Jeremy,

I would be interested in your campaign if I could use a U.S. M29C Weasel being used by the French. The reference book I have shows these being used in 1952 and 1953. I know that is earlier than what you have as a time frame so I thought I would see if it would be alright with you.

If so I will be making a small diorama of the M29C sitting in a rice patty.

Thanks,

Harv

Sal: Whatever you want to go with bud, an F-4 sounds great!

Harv: As I stated before, if there is any interest in French involvement prior to 1955 then I certainly welcome it, so your Weasel is in! Your dio plan sounds like a great example for this campaign as well. Would love to see any ref photos you are using for inspiration

In any case I am in

Alright guys, how does a start date of August 01 2011 sound?

And I believe that most would benefit from a full 12 month campaign to allow for dioramas and some of the larger aircraft builds?

August 1 2011 sounds good. I might even throw together a small dio for this one... some 'Nam SEALs or LRRPs insertion/extraction with the PBR. And it's not creepy-eyed... she's more doe eyed than anything

August start, 12 month build, sounds good. Gives me time to hunt down some after-market for my Thud as well.

Cheers, D

Matt: Hey now, don't tell me you're getting all sentimental on us That sounds like a kick arse diorama, especially with the inclusion of water. I will really be looking forward to that one

Randy: Awesome, you bring us to 16 right now, glad to have you on board and will be looking forward to seeing a Patton built up, especially with that monster searchlight

It sounds like August 01 2011 and 12 months is going to be favorable. I feel it will give us plenty of time to finish up all of the other campaigns we're enlisted in, as well as some good time to pick out and collect all of the little goodies for our projects before the campaign starts. I'm hoping the 12 months will provide adequate time for the awesome builds a lot of you guys have plans for

Something special to motivate potential diorama builders, check out Prasert's pictorial for creating bamboo trees and house ruins from scratch. A very simple and cost effective approach with convincing results

All right guys you all can count me in. Lets see what I'm going to build.

Aircraft...F/A-18F
Armor...M1130 Stryker
Helicopter...V-22

Noooo I'm just kidding

For this campaign I'm planning on,

A-6E Intruder
EA-6B Prowler, the Prowler first saw combat in the closing months of the war.

I may (don't hold me to it) do a Helicopter, a Huey of course and a Armor piece...guntruck. That's if there is plenty of time.

Happy Modeling,
Joe

August 2011 with a 12 month run sounds perfect for me. Options are a Huey, Deuce and a half, or maybe an M113. Can't decide...but have a few months to think about it.

Glad to have you on board Andy and G Man! Great choices both of you guys

Damian: That's a sweet looking kit with that meat grinder mounted over the rear axles, I've been looking at that one myself as well, although I would still have to buy mine, unlike you

Hisham (diorama)
windysean
VonCuda (aircraft)
Keeperofsouls2099 (aircraft)
jccraemer
collin26 (NVA or French project)
Graywolf
AussieReg (F-105 "Thud", perhaps M35A1 Gun Truck)
ltb073 (F-4)
Kiwi_Modeller (RAAC Centurion)
HARV (French M29C Weasel diorama)
SGTKJ (M706 or F-105G Wild Weasel)
Whitey
13M201182 (M48 Patton)
mother (A-6E Intruder, EA-6B Prowler, maybe more!)
Torchy (RF-101B)
AgentG (USMC Ontos)

It's great to see so many interested in this early stage of the campaign, and such great choices too!

And don't forget to brush up on your camera skills as Iain Hamilton of AK Interactive USA and Vladi Demchenko of BRAVO 6 have offered to sponsor a photo contest for this campaign!

And remember this campaign is ripe for dioramas and vignettes, and that includes aircraft! So let's see some jungle, village, rice patties, muddy water, tarmac, and carrier decks guys!

On to a new year!

Well here is what I will be using and some photos that I am using for inspiration.

I will be using the French F.M. 24/29 machine gun and the MAT 49 submachine guns from this set.

I had this water buffalo given to me years ago. I held onto it for just such a project. It will require a lot of work but I want to see if I can use it in the diorama.

Here are some of the pictures I will be using for my inspiration.

I really like this one.

I am looking forward to this campaign. It should be a lot of fun.
