I love vignettes with such an interesting story background... I think this is a really good way to honor your ancestors serving in WW2.

Thanks!

A truly heartfelt tribute it is. A masterful display worthy of such a tribute. An inspiration to us all. I've been searching my heart for years to pay such a tribute to both my father and brother but I haven't been able to pickup a brush in years. I'm dealing with some sort of a mental block. Grrr!

I salute you

John

Thank you for your comments Gentlemen and Engin thank you for publishing this. You've done a fine job!

I hope that I will further improve my painting skills and hopefully my next work will be more up to the high standards set by the other contributors of the site.

Cheers and thanks again!

Ya know, the bar can be kinda high on Armorama but we all start somewhere. It's up to you to set the bar to your own standards, I find more and more that people like to paint for themselves, when you think about it, it's really all that matters. I'm no expert modeler, but I do know when someone really tried to put his or her heart into a project.
One of the items most precious to me among items that may have cost many thousands of dollars is a simple rock covered in red paper and has a pipe cleaner glued to it... It's the ugliest thing that I was ever given, but it was given to me from my son, his first gift to me besides a loaded diaper. Last weekend, 27 years later he graduated from one of the countries most prestigious art school with honors. Yale even offered him a position to teach there. So ya, you can improve if you want to... For now, unless you decide to still work on it.. Be proud.

No matter where your grandfather may be now, I'm sure he's just as deeply gratified as I am with my rock.

Thanks John! Fortunately my Grandfather is still well at 81 years and lives with his wife of almost 60 years in Seattle. They're even coming to visit us in Switzerland this Summer!

Cheers!

That will be awesome! Wait when he see It in person, he's going to love it! There's some amazing modelers in Switzerland, vie met a few at the long island show and valley forge show here in the states.

Take care!

Stefan,
Great little scene. I was stationed with the 1/23 Infantry Headquaters company from 1983 to 1984. The 23rd is was one of the most decorated Infantry Regiments of the US Army. I hope your grandfather liked the scene.
