Still not got started on any of the vehicles for this one but the Brocno Bofors crew offer an opportunity for a few more BEF Troops, so started to make a couple of stretcher bearers/RAMC personnel. Heads and stretchers from Resicast.

Well I haven't managed to get started on the vehicles yet but the recent release by Bronco of their 17 pdr crew did produce a set of the double cartridge carriers that were worn by the RA and support troops during the early years of the war. I didn't use them with the gun crew as you only get 10 but this prompted an opportunity for another early war figure to add to the mix.

This one is a combination of Tamiya body parts, Resicast Head, DML Gas mask and Ultracast bayonet, to which will be added an Italeri SMLE.

Ola Alan. This is shaping up nicely. I like the crowded scene on the street with all the vehicles and the troops scattered around the diorama. Really nice work.

I have the Resicast early Bren Carrier and/or Scout Carrier plus the Vickers Mk VI B to build as possibles for the scene.

I haven't done anything more on the civilians yet either as I've been working on my Somme project but a couple of troops with the double cartridge pouches will add some more variety to the mix of soldiers.

A cart and an early Tilly should work too, so once I get a selection of vehicle to choose from built, I can see what works best. Just need more build time

Hi folks,

Well I finished building the Preiser figures. There are 7 per set, men women, children and baggage. By to days standard they are a bit rough, excess flash, seems and blob type feet, so they need a fair bit of clean up. That said I do like the range of poses, and mix of figures that you get.

For vehicle options I have either an early Bren or Scout Carrier, Vickers MK VI B Light Tank and a Tilly. I'm leaning towards one of the carriers and a Tilly unloading some medical supplies. Two rather than 3 vehicles will probably work best.

I doubt I'll use all the civilian in this as I had planned to have some Tommie's trying to move through the crowd. The original concept for this was a Martini type diorama. By that I mean a scene that could be anytime, any place, anywhere as the confusion and destruction of war doesn't really change just moves from place to place.

On the corner of the pavement by the carrier I think I'll add a lamp post or telegraph pole and also one by the drain pipe end of the building. These should give it an even more crowed feel and of course I'll need to add some signage to indicate where this is, in this case the Belgium/Franco Border

Anyway here's the crowd on the move in a test run.

Nice hustle and bustle going on there. I like it. The war has moved on and people are trying to put the pieces back together.
Can you get some pics at ground level? Can you replace the blob feet with hornet aftermarket? Or Historex?

Extremely detailed piece, only complaint is some of the figures seem a bit 'shiny'. Specifically the two Brits with the rolled up stretchers and the civilian with the blue cap.

Can't wait to see it completed.

Yes, too much handling moving them around for the test layout. The two Brits will most probably get moved back a little s more so I'm not too concerned about that at the moment. Thanks for the thoughts though.

These are some BEF troops I did earlier in the year. I add some respirators, re-positioned the ammo pouches and added a new torso and head to the Sergeant. I was thinking the Officer and NCO might work well by the windows on the 1st floor.

The Bren Team working their way through the crowd. I have a couple of others to add respirators to but need some more buckles.
