Really good review, Rick. Strange how so many current aftermarket conversions seem to produce mixed reactions to the manufacturers efforts. Lots of good stuff and then, as you get deeper into the box, there's the inevitable "uh oh". In this case, you'd identified the "uh oh" for us. If we choose to purchase the kit, we are indeed forewarned. Thanks for your time.

Many thanks for the review.
We owe you some money... at least you save me some. An upgrade is not, as long as is not complete. Doing the conversion by ourself will be time consuming but certainly cheaper.
A good picture ot this "Avenger" composite is included in "Tank battles of the pacific" - Zaloga- Concord 7004 on page 71... I had this project in mind since I bought this book.
Turret tracks are M3/M5 ones, so AFV kit can provide them. T49 Cleat tracks for the M4 are available from AFV (vynil) or in plastic (Bronco, Panda). Grouser (?) on the transmission can be found in some Resicast Sherman kits...
Extra added armor on the hull can even be a "sacrified" M4A3 (Italeri, Tamiya...) unused from the stash, no ? Well the rear platform on the engine deck will be more "guessed" than known... but is there a rear photo of this "Avenger" ? Yes, of course the serial n° is not easy to read and the name has to be hand-painted (ok MIG your stronger than me...) . But it worth a try no ?
