I have been watching the build thread so I will just repeat myself: excellent job, Alan!

Well done, especially the Breda version. I can't recall, but was it the technical of the year in '42? It is so interesting to see in the nowaday Lybian conflict they using very similar techniques... War never change...

Thanks for looking in and the comments folks. With companies like New World Miniatures making an interesting range of new LRDG figures and the MasterBox 'in porgress' set , the future look bright for the Tamiya kit yet.

I think it must be frustrating for people that they release the truck only as a Limited Addition now and again, thereby hicking up the price. I would be nice to see a new tooled vehicle along with some support trucks. This particular area of the desert campaign has and probably will always be of interest to modellers so it's a pity the vehicle choice is so limited. What's also surprising is that despite it's age no AM company ever made an alternative set of secals for the vehicles! There is probably an opportunity for several sets there.

Hi Alan,

Super job, they both look excellent and of course very different to your usual European work. I guess the trouble is that you will not be able to use those nice cobblestones this time, it is time to start playing with sand and rocks.

AS you know I have one of the limited release 30cwt and 20 mm Breda ones in the white box, I guess I probably need to get saving for some of the fabulous figures that you have added.

Many thanks, yes I'm still pondering a base for them. I could do them individually which would help with the lack of space issue or on a small dio together. I have already cleaned up an old desert base !

The MasterBox figures look promising if you don't want the expense of the resin ones.
