Hi All,

As an aside from my M8 HMC project, I am researching the artillery for which my grandfather was an FOO in the Battle of Long Tan.

Does anyone know if a 1/35 scale model exists for an 105mm L5 Pack Howitzer as used by the ANZAC's until 1967?

sorry - don't know of any. Would like to see one though - they were used by E Bty (Para) in the Candian Airborne Regt into the late 80's / early 90's.

That's a shame. Might have to model an M113A1 then.

Thanks for the speedy response,

The only model of this gun I've managed to find was an old 1/32 metal toy by Brittains. I served on these with the Royal Artillery before moving to Abbots so I made it for the old campaign "service with honour".

The Brittains model is pretty basic - I remodelled the breech area, added sights and changed the wheels for some plastic ones from the spares box. The one I found on Ebay had no muzzle brake, so I had to make that as well.

Wow; this looks like a cracking little model. Used by the British Army from (I think) the early 60s until replaced by the Light Gun in around the mid 70s. This would look brilliant being towed by a Revell/Italeri Land Rover.

I might have to get one of these even though I don't normally make towed artillery.
